With\u00a0an SP#108, the 6\/1 morning line equal favourite strolled home in the stretch, after having settled back in a large trailing pack behind early leaders, REXTON (10\/1)\u00a0and DELIGENCE (8\/1).\u00a0 REXTON battled on very gamely after a bold run, to\u00a0be first home behind\u00a0the champion sprinter, with CYBORG SID (6\/1) running home strongly for third.<\/FONT><\/P>
With D Givens (24.7% for the year) on board, AB FAB emerged from the pack at the half way mark, just as the leaders were applying the pressure and making a break on the field of 14.\u00a0 The others couldn’t go with the Awesome Again 5yo horse, who timed his run perfectly to take out the $500,000 Grade 1 event.<\/FONT><\/P>
DELIGENCE\u00a0gave his second disappointing result in a row, with a fading 7th, behind CRYPTO FLOW (13\/1), FAME AND FORTUNE (6\/1) and BARNY THE DRUNK (16\/1) who filled 4th, 5th and 6th positions.\u00a0 FAME AND FORTUNE was given every opportunity, but was just not up to it this time, while CRYPTO FLOW and BARNY THE DRUNK both made good ground along the inside of the main pack to finish closer than their odds suggested they would.<\/FONT><\/P>
