Sire <\/SPAN><\/B>Midway Road<\/SPAN><\/B><\/st1:address><\/st1:Street> Well Represented<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/B><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

South Africa<\/SPAN><\/B> – The Prospects of Gold Memorial<\/I> drew only four horses and this might be called – See if the sire Midway Road (a 20% winner from foals raced) is really worth a darn – as half of the horses entered are his get.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>However, the race was instead named after Prospects of Gold, a 9 YO horse by Scobie Ski. \u00a0<\/SPAN>He won 15 of 57 starts including a Grade III stakes.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He is the sire of one foal to race.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>His Memorial race will be run at a distance of seven furlongs over the fast main track.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The four three year-olds will be competing for a purse of $65,000.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Here is a look at the field by post position.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Trangalanga<\/SPAN><\/B> (5\/2) is a 3 YO colt by Mountain Cat and is trained by Saratoga26<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>One of the more experienced colts in the race, he has won three of his ten starts, all in his last five races. \u00a0<\/SPAN>He has a ton of speed from the gate and hasn’t been headed very often but he seems to have a small problem finishing a race.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He has won at distances from 6 1\/2 furlongs to a mile but he has been beaten in deep stretch at distances of 5, 5 1\/2, and also at a mile after leading most of the race.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>It doesn’t seem to be the distance – but the wire that confuses him.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He does have steadily improving speed figures and maybe he will put it all together on Saturday.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Tracktails<\/SPAN><\/I><\/B> will saddle Midway Dancer<\/B> (2\/5) in post two.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This nice colt has won three of his nine starts and has also finished in the money in seven of those nine.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He has won two of his last four including two stakes, The Light Jupiter<\/I> and The Texas Monster<\/I> (named after a horse yours truly campaigned many years ago).\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Midway Dancer<\/B> finished a respectable 5th<\/SUP> in the Grade II Can’t Wait For Nextweek<\/I><\/B> stakes and was second last time out in The Tabasco Wavering<\/I>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He has a good jockey on board and is another with improving speed figures. Don’t take this one lightly.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Crafty Moon<\/SPAN><\/B> (14\/1) is a 3 YO son of Crafty Prospector and is conditioned by Irishman2<\/I>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This will be his first time in a stakes event but he broke his maiden at seven furlongs and followed that with an allowance win over an off track.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He comes into this race off a third place finish last time out going a mile and has a record of two wins from eight starts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Crafty Moon<\/B> has some gas but I don’t think he has the speed to go with Trangalanga<\/B> although with these lightly raced horses that are still learning, you never know.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

On the outside will be the second of the two Midway Roads, American Midway<\/B> (4\/1) a well built colt trained by Queahora<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>With 11 starts he is the most experienced colt in the race and is a three-time winner.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>American Midway<\/B> has finished on the board in two stakes races (third in The<\/I> Oblivious Pod<\/I>) and comes into this race fresh off a victory last time out in a <\/SPAN>Portugal<\/SPAN><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> allowance.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Maybe most important, he ran a career high speed figure with almost a 20 point increase.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He could be one to watch.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>
