And quite a powerful trio prepares to duke it out too — BB Distaff<\/EM> runner-up K’s Joan Bach<\/STRONG>\u00a0faces\u00a0recent Original Margarita(G2)<\/EM> heroine Bush Wins Again<\/STRONG> and very swift Grade 1 winner Wild Chick<\/STRONG>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Toss in graded trooper Master And Command(IRE)<\/STRONG>, and bright 4yo fillies Carol of the Bells, Stormy Breeze<\/STRONG>\u00a0and Glorious Morning<\/STRONG> and we got a fabulously competitive showdown.\u00a0\u00a0 Golden opportunity for these fillies and mares to pick up stakes points on their ambitious divisional leaders.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Let’s get to it………………………<\/FONT><\/DIV>

4\/1 – K’s Joan Bach<\/STRONG> (verdugote)<\/FONT><\/DIV>
Absolute glorious racemare, nominated for the 2006 Sim Eclipse Older Mare on Dirt title.\u00a0 K’s Joan Bach absolutely sizzled towards the end of last season, winning the\u00a0premier Three Smokestacks(G1)<\/EM> in her final prep for the Breeders Bowl.\u00a0\u00a0 She chased Armed With Money home on BB day, but you can’t keep this girl down for long.\u00a0\u00a0 K’s Joan Bach rebounded in her final ’06 bow, bagging a two-length laugher in the sponsored Horatio Luro(G1)<\/EM>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/FONT><\/DIV>
<\/FONT>\u00a0<\/DIV>
Both of those Grade 1 races came over 9f.\u00a0\u00a0 The 5yo daughter of Forestry can more than handle a sixteenth less though as she\u00a0did when placing in the Superfilly(G1-8.5D)<\/EM> last autumn.\u00a0\u00a0 This season, Ledwith (verdugote) took his time bringing back K’s Joan Bach.\u00a0\u00a0 The mare actually made her ’07 debt in a Friday RODOTS ALW late last month, where she finished 3rd in a easy gallop.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I’m sure the mare will be sharp as a tack this time around and ready for 100% effort.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/FONT><\/DIV>
<\/FONT>\u00a0<\/DIV>
Look for K’s Joan Bach somewhere around the back of the pack.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She needs to hustle a little bit though from the dreaded 12-hole.\u00a0\u00a0 Will need racing position, but hopefully jockey A. Arthur gives her a clean outside trip, steering clear of trouble.\u00a0\u00a0 Easy winner if on target.\u00a0\u00a0<\/FONT>\u00a0Ranked #4 in division.\u00a0<\/FONT><\/DIV>
<\/FONT>\u00a0<\/DIV>
4\/1 – Wild Chick<\/STRONG> (airjordyn)<\/FONT><\/DIV>
Wild Chick is so fast, she’s a\u00a0photographer’s nightmare.\u00a0\u00a0 The Wild Again 5yo changed her gritty luck late last season, romping in a pair of 9f grades that left the clockers spinning.\u00a0\u00a0 The mare stormed from midpack to win the Jump Town(G2)<\/EM> with a 113.<\/STRONG>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Wild Chick then followed it up with an equally fabulous 107 SP#<\/STRONG> in the sponsored Beldame Handicap(G1).<\/EM>\u00a0\u00a0 The victories rocketed her up the rankings and she wasted no time, jumping right\u00a0into the\u00a0’07 action.<\/FONT><\/DIV>
<\/FONT>\u00a0<\/DIV>
This season, Wild Chick won a 10f\u00a0listed level stakes and then shortened up to a flat mile, nabbing a runnerup spot in the Jakes LD Challenge(G3)<\/EM>.\u00a0 The\u00a0mare wheeled back after that effort to\u00a0race in the Minnesota vs Vermont<\/EM> residency challenge.\u00a0 \u00a0She inhaled the flat mile with a 109 SP#<\/STRONG> victory.\u00a0 Moral of the story:\u00a0\u00a0 Wild Chick has totally blossomed for airjordyn.\u00a0 She’s lightly raced at only 18 starts, but counts 11 victories to her resume already.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/FONT><\/DIV>
<\/FONT>\u00a0<\/DIV>
This mare’s one to watch this year.\u00a0 She’s pretty much a closer, but doesn’t like to rally from downtown too much.\u00a0\u00a0 Top jockey V Jennings in the irons.\u00a0\u00a0 Ranked #6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The only problem I see with her is that she’s had a vigorous schedule with tough races this season.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Only three weeks rest.\u00a0\u00a0 Could possibly be due for a “bounce,” but, then again, maybe I’m\u00a0just looking for a reason to discount her.\u00a0\u00a0Still, major threat.<\/FONT><\/DIV><\/DIV>

5\/1 – Master And Command(IRE)<\/STRONG> (scream)<\/FONT><\/DIV>
Oddsmakers like this gal and she really deserves a second look.\u00a0\u00a0 Master And Command enters here fresh off of a 9f listed level victory.\u00a0\u00a0 The 5yo daughter of Montjeu(IRE) is a very consistent filly — if she doesn’t win, then bring home a big share of the purse.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/FONT><\/DIV>
<\/FONT>\u00a0<\/DIV>
Master And Command finished 2nd to Wild Chick in the Jump Town(G2)<\/EM> last season with a 111 SP#.<\/STRONG>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The mare ran into another buzzsaw in her next, finishing bridesmaid again to a\u00a0splendid classic distance mare named Waki Notion in the Girls Cap(G3-10fD)<\/EM>.\u00a0\u00a0 That was an excellent effort and highly receommend\u00a0trainer Scream to consider another 10f graded try.\u00a0\u00a0 It’s not like Master And Command loses all the time — she did win the 9f DelPenn Distaff(G3)<\/EM> with a 111 SP#<\/STRONG> last summer.\u00a0 <\/FONT><\/DIV>

Very experienced runner with a 10-for-31\u00a0lifetime record and #20 ranking.\u00a0\u00a0 I kind of like her better going 10f or 9.5f, but\u00a0‘Master can mix it up in all her feisty milerishness.\u00a0\u00a0 Due for a victory.\u00a0\u00a0 Cushy 6-hole post.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0So-so jockey.\u00a0\u00a0 Rallies from about midpack.\u00a0\u00a0 Definite factor for the board and minor share.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Possible for winners circle too.\u00a0\u00a0 Keep an eye on her if the faves have “off” days.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/FONT><\/DIV>

Bush Wins Again merits heavy respect after taking the Original Margarita(G2-9fD)<\/EM> three weeks ago.\u00a0 The 5yo Tiznow mare positively romped from behind the lead, extending her advantage by three lengths at the wire and becoming a millionairess in the process.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She actually raced a couple times against K’s Joan Bach last season, garnering a 2nd spot in the Horatio Luro(G1)<\/EM>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/FONT><\/DIV>
<\/FONT>\u00a0<\/DIV>
Probably her\u00a0most satisfying triumph for Waremblem\u00a0came on GR Simsters Championship day<\/EM>.\u00a0\u00a0 Bush Wins Again totally dominated the race, winning under wraps.\u00a0\u00a0 At the graded level, she turned a lot of heads when capturing the Rio Secco Handicap(G1-9fD)<\/EM> with an ethereal 110 SP#<\/STRONG>.\u00a0<\/FONT><\/DIV>
<\/FONT>\u00a0<\/DIV>
Marked credentials then for Bush Wins Again, a formal stalker through and through.\u00a0\u00a0 She attracts top jockey A Weldon and the pair will have quite a challenge Saturday breaking out of the 13-hole.\u00a0\u00a0 Ranked #7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This gal’s red hot.\u00a0\u00a0 She’s probably better around nine panels though.\u00a0\u00a0 Definite factor for at least the board.\u00a0\u00a0<\/FONT> <\/FONT><\/DIV>

Pretty swift 109 SP#<\/STRONG> winner last season of the Gowader(G2-8fD)<\/EM> versus her age group.\u00a0\u00a0 Hennessy 4yo finished off a very promising sophomore season with a runnerup cheque on DelPenn Champions day.\u00a0\u00a0 Loves these milerish races.\u00a0\u00a0 Ran pretty even in ’07 listed stakes debut though.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Should be ready to fire on three weeks rest.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Outsider, but interesting chance with her back class.\u00a0\u00a0 Is she ready to upset the top mares?\u00a0\u00a0 Green at 13 starts, but not without a shot.\u00a0 Possible from midpack, but maybe better chance for some minor\u00a0dough.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/FONT><\/DIV>

10\/1 – Glorious Morning<\/STRONG> (seekin49er)<\/FONT><\/DIV>
As a sophomore, Glorious Morning won the Sister Hen(G1)<\/EM> and a Smackdown day event.\u00a0\u00a0 The latter came very swift with a 107 SP#<\/STRONG> rally over 9f.\u00a0\u00a0The filly extended her form with a fine runnerup spot in the Grace Kelly(G1)<\/EM>.\u00a0\u00a0 Unfortuantely,\u00a0the daughter of Johannesburg went on a slide afterwards,\u00a0flopping against colts\u00a0in the Northern Derby(G3)<\/EM> and racing forgettably in the BB Distaff<\/EM>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This poor filly even lost a short field ALW in her final ’06 start.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/FONT><\/DIV>
\u00a0<\/DIV>
Perhaps ’07 will pick this gal up.\u00a0\u00a0 She rallied handily from midpack to win a 106 SP# <\/STRONG>8.5f ALW a month ago.\u00a0\u00a0 Has she indeed returned to her old form or has\u00a0seekin49er rushed her into this race?\u00a0\u00a0 Classy gal, but many questions.\u00a0\u00a0 We’ll see how she answers them Saturday.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/FONT>\u00a0<\/DIV>

12\/1 – Stormy Breeze<\/STRONG> (lenny2)<\/FONT><\/DIV>
Storm Cat 4yo joins the stalker fray, but can also press the pace.\u00a0\u00a0 Stormy Breeze was a Grade 3 winner over this distance versus her age group last season.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Strong 105 SP#<\/STRONG> time too signaled brighter things to come.\u00a0\u00a0 Unfortunately, the filly kind of sea-sawed for the rest of the season, hitting the board a couple times over 9f-10f and competing well in a Grade 1 sprint.\u00a0\u00a0 Don’t get me wrong though — she’s actually quite talented and consistently runs a solid race.\u00a0 Just races ahgainst top-level company and can’t find the winner circle at that level of late.\u00a0 Also very green with only 11 career starts.\u00a0\u00a0 Outside chance for all the marbles if she shows up.\u00a0 Additionally, there’s no real true blue speed in this group either — we could see on her on the lead.\u00a0\u00a0 Better than her odds indicate.<\/FONT><\/DIV>

13\/1 – Troubled<\/STRONG> (smokers)<\/FONT><\/DIV>
Fit To Fight 5yo mostly specializes pretty much in this 8.5f distance.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The mare recently threw a 102 listed level number over it and bagged a 99 SP# ALW LTO too.\u00a0\u00a0 Honestly mare, hitting the board in 12 of 16 lifetime outings.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Doubtful she’s ready for the big time though with those numbers.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Has to put it all together in a hurry.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Slim to none chance at the winner circle.\u00a0\u00a0 Maybe a minor share at best.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Joins midpack.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/FONT><\/DIV>

Grade 2-placed over 9.5f last season.\u00a0\u00a0 Miswaki 5yo used a 103 SP#<\/STRONG> 9f ALW score to test the grade 1 level in the Original Margarita(G2-9fD)<\/EM> three weeks ago.\u00a0\u00a0 The stalker ran evenly, but was outclassed, finishing 5th of 9.\u00a0 Solid BP earner at the listed level shortening up.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Doubtful she’ll be much of a factor for the money positions in this tough spot.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/FONT><\/DIV>

AP Indy daughter steps up in class in 17th career call to post.\u00a0\u00a0 Arrivals recently entered the stakes ranks after winning up to her NW3x late last season.\u00a0\u00a0 The stalker has had mixed results though in black type company.\u00a0\u00a0 She picked up a couple minor shares over 8f-8.5f with 99<\/STRONG> and 91 SP#s<\/STRONG> respectively before spitting out the bit three weeks ago when asked to go 9f.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Precarious spot — would rather see Arrivals win and prove herself in the overniters before attempting the likes of K’s Joan Bach, et al.\u00a0\u00a0 Nice filly, but appears overmatched at this point in her young career.\u00a0<\/FONT><\/DIV>

Glorious Morning is a wildcard in this race — classy filly, but don’t know if her best days are behind her.\u00a0\u00a0Same with Carol of the Bells — lackluster ’07 debut has me wondering.\u00a0 Of the other 4yos, Stormy Breeze merits consideration, but needs to put it all together.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I don’t like any of the other longshots.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/FONT><\/DIV>
