{"id":371,"date":"2005-08-25T15:23:47","date_gmt":"2005-08-25T15:23:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blacktypebugler.com\/?p=371"},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","slug":"oldbtb_1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/btb.ehorseracing.com\/?p=371","title":{"rendered":"Possible BB Turf Juv. faces 6 in Candle Que"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nebraska<BR>The Candle Que (IRE) Challenge will be run this week at 8.5 furlongs on the good turf for $45,000.\u00a0 A evenly matched field of 6 has arrived. <BR>First up is #1 <STRONG><EM><FONT face=Courier>LAKE RAIDER<\/FONT><\/EM><\/STRONG>\u00a0\u00a0 4\/1.\u00a0 He&#8217;s a son of Shahrastani, with a 5\/2-1-1 record.\u00a0 Trained by raider99 he&#8217;s stakes placed at 6.5f SP80, and coming off a 5th in a SMACK DOWN race SP77 over 7f.\u00a0 Distance might be a bit long for him.\u00a0 <BR>#2 <FONT face=Courier><STRONG><EM>RAISED ON ROYALTY<\/EM><\/STRONG><\/FONT>\u00a0\u00a0 is by Storm Cat x Forty Niner x Unbridled, he&#8217;s 5\/2-1-2 on the turf included a 3rd in a stakes SP75.\u00a0 He&#8217;s had a pair of allowance runs at a mile, SP77 and 80 so the distance shouldn&#8217;t be a problem.\u00a0 Also he&#8217;s 1 for 1 on the good turf, so he should have no problems here.<BR>#3 <STRONG><EM><FONT face=Courier>COMIC GARDEN<\/FONT><\/EM><\/STRONG>\u00a0\u00a0 is by Spinning World, and is a filly facing the boys.\u00a0 She&#8217;s 4\/2-1-0, the only off the board finish was a 6f G1 try where she&#8217;s finished a decent 6th SP69, most recently she placed 2nd in a 8f Stakes SP78.\u00a0 Tries the boys for the first time.<BR>#4 <STRONG><EM><FONT face=Courier>YOUR HONOR RAIDER<\/FONT><\/EM><\/STRONG>\u00a0 4\/1 is 5\/3-1-0 by Alnaab.\u00a0 He&#8217;s the first stakes winner we see in the field, a 6f win with a SP77.\u00a0 Most recently he&#8217;s coming off a 4th in the 7f SMACK DOWN race, which also earned him a SP77.\u00a0 Looks as good as the rest, so a win isn&#8217;t out of the question.<BR>#5<STRONG><EM> TIVO<\/EM><\/STRONG>\u00a0 9\/2 is another Storm Cat colt, with a 4\/2-0-0 turf record.\u00a0 His wins included a msw and 8f All. SP68 and 80.\u00a0 Coming off a disappointing try in the Up North Juv. G3 where he placed 12th.\u00a0 Drop to open stakes will definitely help, and his figures are as good as the others.<BR>#6 <FONT face=Courier><STRONG><EM>SKILLS IN MAGIC<\/EM><\/STRONG><\/FONT>\u00a0 is the one to beat at 5\/2, by Denon x Sadlers Wells he&#8217;s 4\/2-2-0 and earned over $228k and is ranked 31st.\u00a0 A msw winner 1st time out SP67, he&#8217;s since placed 2nd in both a 6.5f open stakes and G3 stakes (SP77\/83).\u00a0 Last time out he also run in the SMACK DOWN race at 7f, and he was the easy winner SP82.\u00a0 Top Jockey aboard, looks like a tough horse to beat and one to watch, could end up in the BB Juv.
