It’s likely that most of this will be obvious to you, but in the interest of being thorough, here is a guide to your stable home page. So let’s get started!

After you login, click on the ‘Manage Stable’ link and then on the ‘My Stable’ button. You are now in the home page of your stable.

Let’s start by looking at the box on the top left.
• Top of the box is your stable name. You named the stable, so you should know this part….also, you cannot change this name…sorry!
• Next you’ll see the line ‘Points/Have’. Why the dash?? I have no idea…..that’s not important, what IS important is that this box tells you how many ‘breeding points’ (bps) your stable has. Bps will be the foundation of your breeding program. You earn them by placing in the top 5 in races that you run. You spend them on horses that you will breed. An important note about this, the number won’t change until the end of the week. So if you breed a horse on Wednesday, your total bps won’t change until Sunday.
• The ‘Updated’ line let’s you know when the info in this box was last changed. It is updated once a week. Of course, it is listed as the ‘game week’.
• Next is the total number of races run from this stable followed by total wins, places, and shows. For those uninitiated to racing, a win means first place, place equals second, and show means third place. Told you this would be basic!
• Below this are two boxes labeled ‘Win%’ and ‘ITM %’. Win % is the percentage of total races that you have won. 10% is a respectable number….anything above that is gravy. ITM% is the percentage of total races in which you finished in the top three, or ‘In The Money’. You’d like to see a number here around 30% or better.
• The next line contains ‘Pt/LW’ and ‘Pt/YR’. The first one lists the number of breeding points that your stable earned last week. The second displays the number of points your stable has earned for the calendar year.
• The final line in this box displays the amount of SIM money your horses have earned for the stable in the current calendar year.

Now let’s take a look at the box to the right of this one. This box focuses on the financial situation of your stable. This information is very important during the early days of your stable, but it’s not as big a deal once you get some money in the bank. The first line lists the amount of money that your stable has earned through the current week, and how much it had last week. The rest of the box is broken up into two columns. On the left, is all the money that your stable has earned this week via earnings, bets won, money gained from others claiming your horses, earnings from horses you’ve auctioned, and misc. earnings (NO IDEA what this is!). On the right is money that you’ve spent on Travel expenses, bets lost, money you spent on claimers, money you spent at the auction, and entry fees.
The ‘Post Auction Cap’ simply reminds you that the most money any single stable may have at the end of the week is 5 million dollars.

Finally we turn to the main box on the screen. At the top left is a box showing the current race week. Below this are several columns that we will examine from left to right. On the far left are a couple of shortcuts. ‘Rafi’ will take you to a race entry finder/entry page that is customized to that horse. We will examine Rafi in a future article. ‘Bid’ will lead you to a page where you can bid races for this horse. You probably don’t want to worry about bidding races early in your career. Next to this is a column listing the horse’s ID number. You can click on this number or the horse’s name to take you to the individual horse page. We will examine this page in our next article. The next six columns are fairly self explanatory they tell you the horse’s sex, age, total races, wins, places, and shows. After this is a column titled ‘NMCOS’. This lists the number of races this horse has won that were not maidens, claiming, options, or starter races. What does that mean? Maybe not much to you at first! It just informing you if this horse has won higher class races like Allowances or Stakes. Following this is the total earnings for this horse’s career. The following column ‘Condition’ is important for you to follow. If this reads ‘Injured’ or ‘LayOff!’, then you cannot race the horse that week. It is possible to race a horse that is listed as Needs Rest, Little Groggy, Ready to Go, or Sharp; though it wouldn’t be recommended for a horse that Needs Rest or is Little Groggy. The condition of your horse can only change once a week, on the Saturday update. The column labeled ‘T/Wk’ reminds you of the week that you are training this horse to race in. And the final column gives us the ‘CPU’ value of this horse. The highest possible CPU# is 1000.

So there you go! As I said, you probably knew most of this already, but hopefully, this was a help to knew players that might be afraid to ask basic questions. If you ever have questions about game basics, feel free to ask on the ‘New Players’ forum on the MB.
