A full field of 20 goes to the post for the bragging rights to the best filly at DelPenn. You can have your turf horses and keep your sprinters. This is DelPenn. This is America. Routing on the dirt is all that matters.

#1 TRAVELLER led by veteran trainer Topicount makes her 3rd start in the DelPenn Distaff; hopefully it will be her last. She actually won this race in 2004! Last time I checked 2007 was around the corner. Last year Traveller finished 13th in this very race. If it wasn’t for some of the other awful entries in this race 20th could have been an option. I’m sure many will be rooting for her and her trainer , who is so revered there is a G1 Race named after her at DPCD V.

#2 WHIP SMART bred by Juju? No idea who that is nor do I care but credit goes to him/her for the breed. We will not feed the machine. This filly won the 2nd leg of the Filly Triple Crown so she is a legitimate contender. Facing older in the Breeders Bowl she was badly beaten. Is alive for this.

#3 CUPID’S DEAD trained by myself, genius. Dead dead and dead. Won this race last year and hasn’t done anything since. Tried grass last time to shake things up, didn’t work. Word is she’s knocked up by Point Given and this will be her last race.

#4 FAR MAGE 34-1 in a Delpenn race. Is that possible? Owned by jbsmom. This poor allowance horse had a 78sf at 9f last time out in an ALW. That was 2 weeks ago, can you say dead last.

#5 OTTOMAN EMPIRE trained by seductress Winter(Rikter). I’m not even sure this horse is part of the Delpenn residency. How do I know? It’s good. Blazing fast speed figures, stakes wins and a CR Racers owner restricted race to her credits but when you know how to shake what you got the world is at your feet. Unlike Revelation who has nothing to shake, Parkinson’s doesn’t count.

#6 ALYZIG WELLS trained by docpmg. Beautifully bred horse by SADLER’S WELLS x A.P. INDY x ALYDAR. 5 straight wins and loves the distance. Only question is the step up in class and the horrible name it was given. Try drinking some crown and coke next time, maybe it will give you some creativity.

#7 ALLEGEDLY NOBLE oh my 40-1 I didn’t think that was possible. Rocinante, not sure who that is. At least this horse has 5 wins under its belt. The jockey only has 12 for the year.
Bringing up the rear.

#8 RAIDER IS CLASS from the brilliant minds of A.R.S.E. trained by Glennwins. With a name like Glenn it has to be good. Raider and class in the same sentence, well I’m not sure about that. Rumor has it his 1st encounter with his new lady friend was a fine dining experience consisting of chili dogs and cheese fries from a hot dog joint . Shared a cherry soda, how romantic. Any A.R.S.E. owned horse is dangerous this filly has 7 wins from 25 starts. Contender

#9 BLESSED BELLE owned by fats/texasace. #1 trainer in the sims, the big dog, head honcho. The man with a heart of gold and ego to match. As many friends as enemies. This filly ran a big 105sf last time out. Juice? Yeah I’d say so. Can she back it up? Nope. Looks like a rabbit for her stablemate Fall Classic.

#10 SWIFT KICK by none other than your mighty writer SDMF. Graces the Delaware track for her millions of fans. The Oaks Winner, Breeder’s Bowl winner, 3YO filly of the Year, the accolades go on and on. Takes a quantum drop in class to face mere mortal horses. She could stop midstretch to pose for pictures and still win this race. This year hasn’t been stellar but winning this race will make all right in the universe.

Part II later after some drinking………………..

Part II

#11 THE WESTIES from the Super empire. 3YO filly won a 8F stakes with a 104sf two races back at 15-1. Last start came back to earth in a G2 with a 7th place finish. Would need a career best effort to win this race or get on the juice bandwagon. Picks up the awful jockey D.Silver who would have hard time winning a 1 horse race.

#12 I’VE MET BARB not from the Jake barns but another Super entry. Hmmm. Wonder that means. I heard stories at the Delpenn gathering in Monmouth but nothing was confirmed. Consistently running in graded company but not breaking through will have to run it’s best race to win here.

#13 D. C. AWESOME is a 4yo filly that is anything but. 56-1! Dandcstble sends this nicely bred filly to her 2nd Delpenn distaff, I have no idea why. Filly ran 14th last year and will be battling to beat that this year. Bright side is she will make a nice broodmare.

#14 DIVINE SHADOW(AUS) Ding ding ding!!!! We have a winner at 65-1. I thought I saw the 20th place finisher before but all bets are off. Dkyoung2 sends out a 3yo filly that will run so far up the track post time for the next race has been put back 10 minutes, it’s true.

#15 RAIDER’S EVIL EYE another A.R.S.E. partner sends out this 3YO filly. Jock has been given specific orders to dramatically affect the outcome of this race. Another brilliant A.R.S.E. maneuver. Master minded by Raider.

#16 BARB’S SNOOTY LORI another Super entry? Another Barb title? Bentnose will investigate this further. Something’s up. Filly doesn’t know what to do. Sprint or route, lead or close. Last 3 have been nice efforts, I’m sure it’s the Barb in the title that has led to this.

#17 FALL CLASSIC Fats prime entry is the leading candidate to run 2nd. Nicely bred horse still trying to get her 1st graded win. Won her tune up for this and will be storming home late. Gets Ironside in the Irons but will that be enough?

#18 SPORTS GAL trained by SUPER. You think these guys want to win this race? How many entries is this? They must be up top something. I hope they have a plan. 6 for 16 at routes but this is just an allowance horse that is in over her head.

#19 MARLIN ACCOUNT is a 5YO with only 21 starts with 6 wins. Trainer Surf4bass must be very cautious or extremely old and forgets to enter horses on a regular basis. Trainer must have been starry eyed when she ran a 105sf winning her very first race. Occasionally she throws a good race but they are far and few between.

#20 BARB’S EMPIRE finally a real Barb horse by the one and only Jake! Only thing is he sends a sprinter to run 9f. Not one the stronger Jake horses but I guess he had to enter something in this race to save Barb’s honor from Super.

Twenty go to post and only 1 can win the lions share of $500,000. Who do you think I’m going to pick to win this race?
Swift Kick picks up Z.Wylde for S.D.M.F. at Delaware Downs. Could you ask for anything more? I may be biased but this is like taking candy from a GR Simster.

[2

post-3418","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
