It is named after a horse who won thirteen races on the dirt, including nine at Stakes level. The overnight forecast is for good going.
On the rail is Pop Wilson, who has run only once previously, finishing second in an Allowance race over the minimum distance of four and a half furlongs, also on dirt. That was enough to earn the points necessary to get into the race for this son of Touch Gold, who was bred by spidey and runs for the cjwilson stable. A. Jewell takes the ride.
Drawn on his outside is Journey To Jupiter(IRE), who was bred by eirann and races for the calle4 stable. This son of Galileo(IRE) has run five times previously, winning a Maiden Special Weight over the minimum trip on turf at the third time of asking when the heavy favourite. Last time out, he switched back to dirt for the first time since his debut, and finished a half-length second in an Allowance race over six furlongs. He looked to want further in that race, but whether he will get the mile at this stage in his career is open to question. His young jockey I M Buttons, who is languishing on a one per cent win rate, will be hoping for a change in fortune aboard this one.
Fuzzy Magic has run twice previously, both races in Portugal, finishing second over five and a half furlongs on turf, then switching to dirt for a win in a Maiden Special Weight race over seven furlongs, in which he put up a very good speed figure of 81. This son of Kingmambo does not have much of a staying pedigree, the dam’s dam sire Busted(GB) providing most of the stamina lines. Bred and trained by cream, he has a good jockey in E C Doyle and is the favourite here.
Gonzalez Sergio(IRE) was bred by manni164 and runs for the ruby9 stable, another stable under the same ownership. This son of Swain(IRE) has run three times previously, losing his Maiden tag last time out in an Allowance race over six furlongs, in which he recorded a speed figure of 80. His breeding suggests that a mile should be no problem for him. M. Russell partners him here.
Glide Slope, a son of Charismatic, was bred by afc2 and runs for the super30 stable. He has run twice previously, winning both times, first a Maiden Special Weight over five and a half furlongs on sloppy going, then an Allowance race over six and a half on fast, in which he put up a speed figure of 79. He has not really been tested as yet, and this race against horses who have previously recorded faster speeds should give him more of a run. Ireland’s leading jockey Z. Kentucky will be in the saddle.
The one filly in the race is Southern Queen, who is bred and trained by fourdogs. She has run twice previously, winning her debut over six furlongs on turf when running against colts, then finishing second in an Allowance race over the same distance against her own sex on dirt. Her speed figures have hardly set the world alight, but there are good stamina lines in her pedigree and she should improve for a longer distance. G. Tiggle will partner her here.
Drawn on the outside is Woodyna, a colt by Woodman out of a Dynaformer mare. He has run just once previously, winning a Maiden Special Weight race over seven furlongs, in which he recorded a speed figure of 76. Bred and trained by oneworld, he should not find the extra distance a problem, according to his pedigree. He has a good jockey here in A. Reed.

[2

post-329","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
