The British Columbia handicappers are having a hard time sorting through this field. 5 of the 6 entries are sitting between 5\/2 and 4\/1. The long-shot is going off at only 9-1 and there might be an opportunity for him to come away with the win after a surface change from turf to dirt. <\/p>\n
1) PLEASURE ‘N PAIN, 9-1:<\/strong> This son of Deep Impact certainly seems to have the ability to win this race. Last year at this time he was running 100+ speed figures in 11F allowances on the dirt, then was moved over to turf. LTO he ran an 97 over 14F. He might just have what it takes to win this one. If I had an extra $2 I would probably throw a show-bet his way.<\/p>\n 2) TEMPERS IN CHECK, 5-2:<\/strong> This son of Soldier Hollow is coming off a win in the G-3 Fall Championship in Kentucky. He produced a 110SP figure and won by over a length. He’s going off as the co-favorite in this race at 5-2 and definitely should be bet as at least a place.<\/p>\n 3) BODEMAESTRO, 4-1:<\/strong> He won The Obispo Town Championship Stakes at 10.5F on August 1st. Then he finished a fading 3rd over 12F in The Fall Championship G-3 a month ago. 11F may be that sweet-spot where everything comes together for him. I’m feeling at least a place in this race.<\/p>\n 4) STRAYLIGHT RUN, 5-2:<\/strong> This son of Bodemeister has been running listed stakes between 11-13F all year and has yet to win. The step up to graded competition is probably not going to help him. Save your money on this bet.<\/p>\n 5) MAKE A MOVE COOP, 4-1:<\/strong> His connections have only entered Coop in 4 races all year, 2 allowance and 2 listed stakes. He’s run between 103-108SP in those races but it hasn’t been enough to help him win. I think he finishes 5th or 6th here. Save your betting money.<\/p>\n 6) Union Maverick, 3-1:<\/strong> Another horse that has been running listed stakes all year, with results that are all over the place.
