There aren’t the superstars like in the G1 feature but many of these are destined for bigger and better things and a win here will kick start a bright future for one of these fillies. Here’s the field,

1. GUM BOOTS (superfecta ~ 13/1) This Storm Boot filly won early in her career at only her 2nd start and has since been placed twice in stakes company. In 8 starts she has been placed on 4 occasions and rarely runs a bad race. Seems to get wobbly legs if she races any more than 1100m so may be starting to hurt in the final furlong.

2. DIVOT II (mycaza ~ 11/1) Aptitude filly who signalled the start of a promising career when winning on debut in week 2797 at New York. Just went down, finishing 2nd in stakes company at her 2nd career start then has gone off the boil since. Needs to lift to figure in the finish here but is capable.

3. MONKEY MAMBO (caliracing ~ 9/1) Buddha’s stakes winning daughter has had mixed efforts lately but did win with ridiculous ease when scoring at South Africa 2 starts back posting a SP of 79. She’s dropping back from a mile here but is an on pace runner so will give herself every opportunity. Don’t underestimate.

4. SILVER SLEEPER (keytomint ~ 9/2) This classy Silver Ghost filly is well above average with 3 wins and a 2nd from only 6 starts. Was an allowance winner on 2 occasions before taking on G2 company two starts back and just knocked up in the last 100m to finish 5th after setting a solid tempo up front over 1400m with an SP of 82. Got tired again last start when 4th but is back in distance now and is a major player in this.

5. FLYING MARG(AUS) (dowelly2 ~ 9/1) Chris Wyatt jumps aboard this G3 winning daughter of Flying Spur and is looking for a change of luck after some below par performances in stronger stakes company. Has given them too much start in her last few runs but does appear to hit the line harder over the shorter distances. Watch for her late if the speed is on, which is anticipated.

6. ECHO BEACH (wonder1 ~ 9/1) This beautifully bred Kingmambo filly had a slow start to her career but she finally broke through for her maiden win last start at Victoria posting a 74 SP. Continued improvement could see her in with a chance.

7. EYE OF THE WORLD(IRE) (shamran7 ~ 5/1) Another G3 winning filly, this daughter of Dubawi is undefeated over the sprints with 2 from 2. Failed to fire last start in the Filly Grand Prix but has been freshened for this drop back in distance and looks to be the one they all have to beat.

8. SHELBY’S REIGN (7cardstud ~ 13/1) Bred to run over longer, this speedy Lammtarra filly looks to prefer the shorter course. Her only win came over 900m, then backed that up with a 2nd in stakes company 2 starts back. Last start over 1200m she tired badly in the stetch after setting a cracking pace in the lead. Will likely feel the pinch again in the stretch so needs a soft lead here which is doubtful.

9. BALD ROCK(IRE) (olebaldy ~ 8/1) Exciting youngster who is quickly going through her grades with 3 from 3 so far. Breeding is impeccable being from Rock of Gibralter out of a Seeking The Gold mare and looks to have that touch of class about her. Although her SPs are down on some of the others, she has done what she’s needed to do to remain undefeated. Obviously this is her toughest test to date but should measure up and represents great value at 8/1.

10. AZROC IN FRONT(GB) (cjt2 ~ 34/1) Dashing Blade first timer with fairly obscure bloodlines. Would prefer to see in an easier race than this but maybe the owner knows something we don’t !!

11. AND YOU DON’T STOP (myhorsebig ~ 13/1) Improving Eavesdropper filly who battled on well last start to win a 1x Allowance in Malaysia recording a 75 SP. Certainly not the worst here and probably the smokey of the field.

12. KEPLER OF RAINBOW (bobo ~ 6/1) Talented Rainbow Quest filly who should probably be in Kentucky this weekend going on her #3 ranking. A G2 winner over 1100m, she is undefeated up to this distance and looks to be a huge chance in this race. She’s another who will be challenging for the lead early so she’ll be close enough if good enough.

13. JAPANS OTHER HOPE(JPN) (lodog20 ~ 13/1) This Divine Light filly wss a last start winner at this track posting a solid 77Sp over 900m. Came from a long way back in that race so the extra 300m shouldn’t pose any problems. Watch for her to be staking her claims as they round the bend.

What an even bunch of fillies !! As is generally the case with 2yos, nearly every runner in the race has some chance to take it out on their best form. I like the up and coming filly, BALD ROCK who has looked impressive in her 3 wins and looks set to give this a shake. KEPLER RAINBOW is the class runner of the race and should figure in the finish. This race will be run at break neck speed early so it should suit late closers like EYE OF THE WORLD, FLYING MARG and JAPAN’S OTHER HOPE. Looking to forward to this one and I expect there’ll be plenty of value for punters too.

Selections: 1st ~ (9) BALD ROCK
2nd ~ (12)KEPLER RAINBOW
3rd ~ (7) EYE OF THE WORLD

Good Luck and Go TAWQEET in the Melbourne Cup !!!

[2

post-3253","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
