Tasmania<\/SPAN><\/B><\/st1:place><\/st1:State> – The Erica Port Memorial<\/I><\/B> headlines a top notch card on Saturday.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Named after a 9 YO Corporate Report mare who scored eight wins over a 54 race career.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Since retirement she has had three foals to race, including one winner.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The Erica Port Stakes drew a field of six 3 YO fillies vying for a purse of 60,000 and they will race a distance of six furlongs.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Mother Nature has been delivering a steady rain since Thursday and the track is expected to be rated as “Good”. \u00a0<\/SPAN>Here is a look at the field from the rail out.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Down on the boards will be Ojai High<\/B> (5\/1) a daughter of High Yield and a winner of nine.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Owned and trained by Ojai<\/I><\/B> she has been running mostly on the grass but she is 2\/3 on the dirt including one win.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She enters this race off a 2nd<\/SUP> place finish last time out in The Turfy Memorial<\/I>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Yes, it was on the grass and her only start over an off track was also on the grass.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Will she like dirt clods in her face?\u00a0 <\/SPAN>We will know on Saturday.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Washout<\/SPAN><\/B> (5\/1) is by that well known sire Magic Of Sydney and is trained by Boscoman<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Washout has never run over a “good” track but should be able to handle that if she lives up to her name.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Her major worry might be that the distance too short for her.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She finished third last time out in a nine furlong allowance and has won two of 19 starts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>With her last win being over six months ago, she might benefit from a nice conditioned allowance but Boscoman<\/I><\/B> tells us she is training well and could surprise.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

To the outside of Washout<\/B> is <\/SPAN>Lake Michigan<\/SPAN><\/B><\/st1:place> (8\/1) who also has a name that might be an omen as to how she will handle the off going. \u00a0<\/SPAN>By Meadowlake, <\/SPAN>Lake Michigan<\/SPAN><\/B><\/st1:place> is conditioned by <\/SPAN>Palatine<\/SPAN><\/I><\/B><\/st1:place> and this is a nice filly that has won four and is 7\/9 in the money.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She made the lead in her first stakes try, The Bo’s Veranda<\/I>, but faded down the lane.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She should be fitter this time and is worth a bet.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Wylde Thing<\/SPAN><\/B> (3\/1) is a pricy little thing by Storm Cat.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She will be saddled by Zwylde<\/I><\/B> and has won three of 11 starts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She scored in two allowance races from her last five starts and although she is climbing the class ladder for the first time she should be able to handle it.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She is another that has never run on an off track but her bigger problem will be getting motivated early enough to win.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The distance may be a tad short.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

In post five is Mayama<\/B> (5\/2) a well-conformed filly by Afleet \u00a0\u00a0<\/SPAN>Owned and trained by Maruxa<\/I><\/B> she has six wins from 11 starts including four of her last eight.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She went wire to wire last time out in The Sleezy Toe Memorial<\/I> – so what’s not to like?\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/SPAN>She can handle an off track, likes the distance, and is a stakes winner.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The one to beat!<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

On the outside is Battlefield Earth<\/B> (5\/2).\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This daughter of Diesis is trained by Mrbigb<\/I><\/B>, part of the Sal Empire.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She has won six of 15 but didn’t really discover herself until recently and has reeled off four wins in a row including The Hana’s Record<\/I> at six furlong with a top speed figure of 105.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She has a top jock, a top trainer and probably the only question is the mud.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>
