Once again a retired horse is honored in a stakes race that was lucky to win one. This is an attempt by the WRC to bring back a former stakes race from two seasons ago. While I have great respect for the Kiwi trainer of this former racer, I must agree with WHOA, saying that the naming of this race should have passed to a more deserving retiree. Although there is dissention on the naming of the race there is, over all, an enthusiasm for this thirteen furlong race. Many here in Wyoming seem to prefer the longer races, saying they generate more excitement. Saturday will see the second running of the $55,000 Viking Seattle Cap slated for three years and older horses. There is a field of six entered for the route and now is the time to meet them.
K‘aleidoscope II(IRE) entered by ledwith. This Irish chestnut comes in with an outstanding season to date. It is another in the “K” series of horses by this adept trainer, who is relying on a little superstition for a win. The trainer is banking on their stalker to win just like another “K” series horse, from a different trainer, achieved in the inaugural run. Of course they are hedging the odds by having the top jockey, Jesse Sands, in the irons.
Russian Theater entered by sunairfarm. This chestnut colored elder statesman can still challenge these long distance races. When given adequate rest between races the front runner still puts up the numbers as a horse half his age. He is nearing $2M in prize money and coming in off a strong showing last time out. This is right around the distance he likes best and has plenty of rest to produce a good challenge for the win.
Babyfaced Assassin entered by hamster. This horse comes in after a layoff from a slight muscle strain his last race. The trainer has assured there was no major damage and the layoff was extended for precautionary measures. Even before the layoff this closer has been a little inconsistent and struggling in stakes level races. He returns to US racing after an extended stay in Europe looking for that elusive stakes win.
Congoran entered by argo7591. This elder colt comes into the race on Saturday missing only once on making it in the money. He is coming off of a win where he demolished the competition by over eight lengths. The trainer has been slowly extending his races and each time he has responded well. This is his longest race to date but all indications show this will not hinder him in any way.
Lone Watie entered by flickaspad. This is the debut at the Black Tie level for this elder colt. This horse comes in a solid if inconsistent allowance runner. He has shown a slight preference for the longer routes and is usually the last horse out of the gates. It is something he can not do if he wishes to have any chance against this field. He does like a small field and this could work well for him overall.
Urban Silence entered by battlers. This elder colt returns to stakes racing after some solid work at allowance level. He broke out in his maiden race with a bang and hasn’t looked back, but he hasn’t improved significantly either. He is a consistent runner and likes to close on the field from the back and is on a two win streak coming in. His hard charging close could surprise if the others do not pay attention.

[2,3,1

post-3125","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews","category-reviews","category-uncategorized
["GET
