A fairly illustrious group has won this race in previous years:<\/P> \u00a0 2000 \u2013 GRAN GOER<\/B> \u2013 rgbstable<\/I> \u2013 longish odds, 83SP<\/P> 2001 \u2013 RED DUHLERT<\/B> \u2013 liam<\/I> \u2013 2nd<\/SUP> favourite in a really strong field, 99SP<\/P> 2002 \u2013 JUMP ROPE<\/B> \u2013 larksfarms<\/I> \u2013 2nd<\/SUP> favourite, 91SP<\/P> 2003 – <\/SPAN>ALY STORM<\/B> \u2013 mowar<\/I> \u2013 favourite, 102SP<\/P> 2004 \u2013 DEVIL\u2019S SLIDE<\/B> \u2013 afc<\/I> \u2013 medium-pack odds, 97SP \u2013 2.6M lifetime<\/P> 2005 \u2013 ST GOAR<\/B> \u2013 unworldly<\/I> \u2013 long-odds, 89SP \u2013 159K lifetime<\/P> \u00a0 Horses of all types have traditionally won this race, some of whom the bookies preferred and some of whom were underestimated. It looks like the best fillies overlooked this race last year; will this year revive the tradition of having top talent?<\/P> \u00a0 TEARS OF GOLD<\/B> trained by kingab<\/I> \u2013 9\/1<\/P> A two-time winner this EMPIRE MAKER<\/B> filly has never tried any distance beyond 7f.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>However, she has faced a softer track in her debut.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She\u2019s been pulling away from the pack in her last two races so the distance should suit, but she will need to improve her speed figures in order to win big in a graded stakes.<\/P> \u00a0 THE WALL OF SHAME<\/B> trained by jarrod2<\/I> \u2013 13\/1<\/P> With five races under her belt this SILVER CHARM<\/B> filly is one of the more experienced horses running.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I think the bookies probably got it right; this filly didn\u2019t seem to like the good track in the AMERICAN RULE Special<\/B> and has been fading in the stretch.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>In this classier field holding the lead will be even more difficult. That being said this filly had an improved performance last time out on the turf, and I\u2019d like to see her return there in her next attempt.<\/P> \u00a0 ADVANTAGE<\/B> trained by wajima<\/I> \u2013 16\/1<\/P> Despite the long odds you can\u2019t overlook the fact that this filly is 3-2-0-0 a testament to being correctly placed early on in her career.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She won a stakes in 2895, with her best SP of 74.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>In this field she\u2019ll have to improve again and with the added distance that might be a lot to ask.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Her sire ALDEBARAN <\/B>throws mostly sprinters and with STORM CAT<\/B> as a dam sire I\u2019d like to see this one try an allowance on the inside track before returning to the stakes ranks.<\/P> \u00a0 MATUTA MATER<\/B> trained by teaco<\/I> \u2013 16\/1<\/P> Another filly with longs odds, this time probably because of a failed attempt in a graded stakes race in 2874.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>That\u2019s light-years ago in a two-year-old season, and with a much improved performance last time out (gaining in the stretch over 7.5f) this one can\u2019t be completely discounted.<\/P> \u00a0 WHAT WHAT OK<\/B> trained by jdawg05<\/I> \u2013 11\/1<\/P> This filly has been three times a bridesmaid, but never the bride.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Fading since her debut race, I\u2019m not convinced this one will show the improvement necessary to win.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The distance may also be an issue as daughter of LION HEART<\/B> is bred for speed, speed, speed.<\/P> \u00a0 CLOUT<\/B> trained by lasthope <\/I>\u2013 7\/1<\/P> Our first contender with routing experience, this filly won last time out in her Stakes debut.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She waited until the very last second to close the deal, crossing the finish line only a head above the placing horse.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>If she can either keep up with the lead pack or stay within close striking distance (a furlong or so) she may be able to capitalize on her experience at the distance.<\/P> \u00a0 QUIET SHEIKH<\/B> trained by lawyerron<\/I> \u2013 12\/1<\/P> Her record of 6-2-1-0 reflects a few too many unsuccessful stakes attempts, however she won last time out at this distance over a good track.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>If she can improve once again here she may stand a chance, particularly since she\u2019s a strong closer in a field of mostly front or middle-of-the-pack runners.<\/P> \u00a0 GHOSTLY BREEZE<\/B> trained by lenny2<\/I> \u2013 6\/1<\/P> This filly is showing strong odds because of her stellar record, three-for-three thus far in her young career. \u201cBEEZY<\/B>\u201d is a testament to strong breeding and a patient trainer.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She won her first stakes attempt last time out at this distance, pulling away from the pack and that experience will definitely help her here.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>It doesn\u2019t look like she shies away from pressure \u2013 look for her to step it up around the 5f mark, push through the turn and away from the field in the stretch.<\/P> \u00a0 MCLAREN VALE<\/B> trained by harvey<\/I> \u2013 5\/1<\/P> This filly has been right on in her first two races, winning both with room to spare.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>As a favourite in both previous attempts, she seems to revel in the bookies praises.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She likes to run from about mid-pack.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The only concern here is the distance; she lost a little ground late in The ANNIE ADEN Special<\/B> over 6.5f and with a few strong closers in this field she\u2019ll have to improve to win.<\/P> \u00a0 DENIZENS(IRE)<\/B> trained by seedly2<\/I> \u2013 7\/1<\/P> Breaking her maiden in her debut last time out, this daughter of THEATRICAL(IRE)<\/B> shows promise.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I would have preferred to see her stretch out a little more gradually, and perhaps use an allowance race or two to find out if she can also run on the turf, but sometimes its best to capitalize on success while it\u2019s there.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She\u2019ll probably stick around her post-position neighbour MCLAREN VALE<\/B> \u2013 and they should battle neck-in-neck for position throughout the race.<\/P> \u00a0 TURNBACK<\/B> trained by hifive<\/I> \u2013 14\/1<\/P> A long shot despite her record of 3-3-0-0, this is one to watch.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She\u2019s been improving consistently with distance and won a stakes race last time out.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I expect to see her slip behind the leading pack (maybe with DENIZENS(IRE)<\/B> and MCLAREN VALE<\/B>), conserving fuel for her closing kick.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She\u2019ll be tough to beat in the stretch unless the leading pack has a huge lead.<\/P> \u00a0 JUMPING BARKER<\/B> trained by crash77<\/I> \u2013 12\/1<\/P> This filly came close last time out over 7.5f, and won an allowance race at 8f the attempt prior to that.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The extra \u00bd furlong certainly suits, but whether she has the closing-kick of some of the others is questionable.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>With a little improvement she could certainly crack the money.<\/P> \u00a0 EXPLICIT T<\/B> trained by priceless<\/I> \u2013 14\/1<\/P> Having only run sprints its tough to predict how this filly will react to being tossed into a stakes race with an extra 1.5f of dirt to cover.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She\u2019s also never tried an off track, which can always be a factor.
