Er funnier..oh never mind. This weeks feature race is the SIX SARATOGA Bonanza Stakes for 2 year old fillies at five and a half furlongs on the aforementioned firm turf. The $80,000 purse has attracted a compact field of five to go postward.

1- Breaking from the hedge is leftatgate’s homebred stakes winner SLEW OF REWARDS. The Grand Reward filly turns back in distance after two very good efforts going longer. She won the Ms.Grim Memorial Stakes at 6 furlongs three starts back in wire to wire fashion and with the inside draw that same tactic might be in the works again here. Kudos to the breeder for getting a horse with Hansel in the pedigree to win a stakes race, well any race really. All four turf tries have been solid so she has decent chance at 4-1.

2- The short priced second favorite at 3-2 is victoryrun’s homebred IDOLATRIA who is sired by Buddha. She has a wire to wire victory over MSW company and then a wire to near miss at the wire second place finish in the Hollywood State Sp Stakes in her two lifetime starts. She also turns back in distance this weekend and this is starting to look like it going to be a very interesting opening ¼ mile. Fast filly might have to work a little harder for the lead this week but should be right in the thick of it early.

3- The stretch running SHE”S TRICKY from ourepeat’s barn is next. She is trying to become 30 point freshman sire Bierstadt’s first stakes winner. She drops back in company and distance time, getting outrun in the G3 Fast Lane Stakes last time out. She was a fast closing second in the Strange Case Stakes at 6 furlong after a come from behind victory over MSW company in her first start. A fast pace gives her at least a chance this weekend at 5-1.

4- Kerby4jeep stable is sending out the 9-5 morning line favorite, KIRBY’S LOST BUCK. The two time homebred stakes winner by Lost Soldier is also turning back in distance this weekend and on paper is the fastest finisher in the field. Posting dual 77sp’ in winning the Angel From Ventura and El Masri Stakes but was a beaten favorite last time out going 7.5 furlongs but she did keep her finishing on the board streak alive with a third place finish. He odd’s maker looks to be dead on and she is the one to beat this weekend.

5-Breaking from the not so outside outside post is kaleigh stables BARB’S EXPENSIVE who is sired by the surprisingly sim-useful Pikepass. Was tuned up twice on the main track before she was let loose on the turf last time out for an impressive enough maiden win for her connections to aim the sites a little higher this time out. Only winner at the distance in the race has to attract some punters towards her 6-1 morning line odds.

I can’t pick 2 year olds to save me but I’ll take a stab at a 3-4-5 exacta-trifecta box.

[2

post-2952","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
