This last weekend the highlight race of the day was the Grade III Little Momma Debutante for fillies two years of age over a distance of seven and a half furlongs over the dirt. The track, as expected as listed as fast. The nine horse field loaded nervously into the starting gates, the novice two year olds anticipating the moment when the gates would slide open.
Out to an early lead was scout5 owned Medals In A Row , leading by a length and a half. In second was Symreality owned by togaburt and in third was super7 trained Growling . Vengeful Prayer and Feeling Grouse were in fourth and fifth, owned and trained by pazprayer and grousest respectfully. Early on, trailing the pack was Weadowbank Choice (AUS) owned by pigeon5 who looked to have taken a bad start.
At the second call it was still Medals In A Row in the lead by two and a half lengths with Symreality in second, Growling in third, and Vengeful Prayer and Feeling Grouse in fourth and fifth. Meadowbank Choice (AUS) continued to trail the pack.
Coming into the third call it was still Medals In A Row in the lead, now by two and three-fourths lengths. Growling hand now charged up into second with Symreality fading to fifth. Now in third place was Vengeful Prayer . Feeling Grouse was now steadily moving up and claimed the fourth place position. Kneel Before Zod owned by willyam40 was now beginning to make his move, edging out 1917sox owned Exalted Cat for the seventh place position. Meadowbank Choice (AUS) continued to trail the pack.
At last the grueling and exciting race was coming to a close as the nine fillies drew under the wire. And it was a miraculous late charge by Kneel Before Zod that earned her the win by a length and a half, with late charger Feeling Grouse in second and front runner Medals In A Row fading in the last strides to the wire and finishing third.
