Last weekend in the state of Ohio was the running of the Buckeye Juvenile for two year olds over a dirt course of a mile and one sixteenth, a distance many of these two year olds had never before run. The weather was magnificent and yielded a fast dirt track for Saturday\u2019s race. The two year olds were anxious as they loaded into the gates waiting for them to open.
The bell sounded and they were off with winbyanose <\/i> trained Wild Dreams <\/b> went out into the lead by three-fourths of a length. In second was Trombone <\/b> owned by rocinante <\/i>. Haunt <\/b> sprinted into third, trained by arrakis <\/i>. Turcked in behind in fourth and fifth were Cat Five Cyclone <\/b> and Otto Points <\/b> , tranied and owned by ydracing3 <\/i> and sunkitten <\/i> respectfully. Trailing the pack early on was djones4321 <\/i> owned DJ\u2019s Aptimism <\/b>.
At the second call it was still Wild Dreams <\/b> in the lead, lengthening it by one and one-fourth lengths. Trombone <\/b> was still in second, as was Haunt <\/b> still holding on to third. Cat Five Cyclone <\/b> remained in fourth, but Otto Points <\/b> dropped back into sixth with Lowlands Nights <\/b> owned by wonder1 <\/i> moving into fifth. DJ\u2019s Aptimism <\/b> still clung at the back of the pack.
Wild Dreams <\/b> continued to lengthen his lead, now by two and three-fourth lengths, Trombone <\/b> still in second. Cat Five Cyclone <\/b> had moved from fourth and was now in third. Phychotic Gold <\/b> owned by super12 <\/i> who had been back in the thirteenth spot was beginning to make his move and was now in sixth. DJ\u2019s Aptimism <\/b> began to slowly move up with Ermington Wild <\/b> trained by pigeon <\/i> now trailing the pack. Porcupine Tree <\/b> and Black Blazer <\/b> began to move up, owned and trained by jlincoln <\/i> and simsters7 <\/i>. Lowlands Nights <\/b> was now sprinting in fourth and former front runner, Haunt <\/b> now found himself back in fifth and fading quickly. Dynamite Dance <\/b> (jockeymax5)<\/i>, Eurobuda, <\/b> (vicki)<\/i> and Otto Points <\/b> also found themselves fading back.
At last they\u2019d come to the wire in the grueling race and it was Wild Dreams <\/b> to take the win in an outstanding wire to wire finish with Cat Five Cyclone <\/b> in second, and late runner Psychotic Gold <\/b> to rally for third.
