Last Saturday, in the country now in mourning of one of its own of Queensland, Australia was the running of the six furlong Cane Toad Stakes. Right up there with them was the spelunker <\/I>trained Digital Overture <\/B>. Xtremely Today <\/B>and Thunder Dud <\/B>were in fourth and fifth, trained and owned by mrfu <\/I>and dontnagme <\/I>respectfully. Trailing the enitre pack early in the race was Lightening Striking <\/B>owned by poocher <\/I>.
At the second call Drunken Lullabies (IRE) <\/B>still held on to the lead, now by a head. Digital Overture <\/B>had moved from third to second and Sittin In A Tree G <\/B>fell back to thirdd. Xtremely Today <\/B>and Thunder Dud <\/B>remained fourth and fifth as did Lightening Striking <\/B>, still trailing the pack. Weed Rat (IRE) <\/B>trained by nancy <\/I>moved up from ninth to eighth and longshot Fat Seth <\/B>fell back into the nine slot.
Drunken Lulibies (IRE) <\/B>continued his tight grip on the lead, lengthening it to three-fourths of a length, with Digital Overture <\/B>still in second. Sittin In A Tree G <\/B>began rapidly fading back and waws now in fifth, with late charger General\u2019s Chariot <\/B>owned by proudtruth <\/I>, firing up to usurp the third place position. North Of The Park <\/B>owned and trianed by slowracer2 <\/I>remained charging forward in fourth. Longshot Fat Seth <\/B>was now trailing the pack, with Lightening Striking <\/B>just in front.
Quickly the horses came charing down to the wire at the sixth furlong. The late power drive from General\u2019s Chariot <\/B>merited him the win with jcokey C. Wyatt riding. Drunken Lullabies (IRE) <\/B>settled for second with Digital Overture <\/B>third.
