Salfly’s Spur and Passmenowplease Look The Best<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/B><\/P>

Taiwan<\/SPAN><\/B><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> – I like islands so when I got my BTB assignments I looked forward to seeing the sights.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Unfortunately, my plane tickets showed me in and out on the same day.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Good thing I can sleep on the plane as I had four tracks to cover in only two days.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The A One Memorial\u00a0 <\/SPAN>is the featured race this week at the local track.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>It carries a small purse of only $45,000 and will be run at 14 furlongs over the turf course.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

I found myself a corner of the grandstand and consulted my notes to find the four horses I wanted to watch.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>First to come by was Salfly’s Spur<\/B> (EVEN) by Flying Spur.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Owned and trained by Rose,<\/I> who is part of the Sal Conglomerate, the bright chestnut danced by under a long cross.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She has been in the money in 9 of 11 starts and has three wins, all on the turf.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Her last two wins were at a mile and a sixteenth and although she has been second in three of her last four at longer, she doesn’t seem to really want the extra distance. \u00a0\u00a0<\/SPAN>Her trainer found a very soft spot and if she doesn’t park to this bunch I imagine we will see her in shorter next time out.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Passmenowplease<\/SPAN><\/B> (7\/2) jogged by going the wrong way of the track.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Owned and trained by Yang<\/I>, she was a pretty little thing with big white socks and a big blaze down her nose.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The 4YO daughter of Synastry, was certainly hitting the ground well and she comes into this race, one of the few fit enough to go the distance.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She was a wire to wire winner at 11 furlongs four back and has a total of five wins from 22 starts.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

The Cpu <\/B>stable sent their two entries out as a set and Sang to Sleep<\/B> (5\/2) was on the inside.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The 5YO mare by Sanglamore was a rather roached back sort with what would have been a nice head if it hadn’t been for the pigeyes.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The former $4,000 claimer does like the turf and prefers a distance although I don’t know about this far.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>However, she galloped by strongly, pulling hard on the reins.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>To her outside was a plain bay 7 YO mare, Over On The Egg<\/B> (2\/1).\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She was rather non-descript but had a lovely way of going as she kept pace with her stable mate.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She is the winner of one and was 2nd<\/SUP> last time out in The Old Ladies Stakes in <\/SPAN>Dubai<\/SPAN><\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This will be her first time on the turf. <\/SPAN><\/P>
