It was a Tale of Two Races here at the Grade I Del Webb Oaks in California this weekend. TENACIOUS V <\/b> ran nearly a perfect race from the \u201cway back\u201d and BAD SCENE <\/b> got so far out front that it appeared that no one could possibly catch her.<\/p>\n

In the end, it was number one ranked TENACIOUS V <\/b> who came from over 11 lengths back to win rather easily. That makes two wins in a row and over $1.5 million in earnings for the Peeps4 chestnut filly. She tied her fastest race which was the previous win with a sizzling 106 SPF and now has four Graded wins including three G1s. She also has two seconds in G1s, both by less than a quarter length. <\/p>\n

BAD SCENE <\/b> took the other route and jumped out to the early lead and was never really challenged as she built up a lead of over seven lengths coming into the final turn. It appeared that she was in a different class than the other fillies. In the end, there were only two in the class and it included our winner. SUNSHAFT <\/b> finished third but was nearly nine lengths back. The rest of the field was in double figures behind TENACIOUS V <\/b> who looked like a rocket in the final quarter. BAD SCENE <\/b> ran a personal best 103 SPF but it wasn\u2019t near enough in this race.<\/p>\n

Peeps4 has quite a special horse in the stable and will have to pick and choose the way to possible horse of the year honors with this beautiful filly. I for one will be watching and admiring the chestnut rocket as she finishes up her three year old campaign.<\/p>\n
