See My Baby Jive(IRE) solidified his ranking as the number one juvenile turf sprinter this week, capturing the Ray Jackson Special in impressive fashion. He kept his record unblemished at six wins in six starts and notched his fourth stakes win. As in all his previous outings, he lead the field from gate to wire. Look for this colt to be lining up in the Breeder’s Bowl field early in November. The victory pushed his career earnings to $279840, and also gets win number fifty two for his trainer, calle3. His low odds didn’t make for a big day at the betting window, with See My Baby Jive(IRE) paying $3.80 $2.10 $2.10 across the board. Bolstered by the two and three spots, the exotics were a bid better, the a payout of $15.00 in the exacta, and $85.00 in the trifecta.

Pretty much as predicted, See My Baby Jive(IRE) jumped out to the early lead from the break. Flying Fortress BG kept him honest for the whole race sitting just off his tail from gate to wire. He managed to close a shade in the stretch, but it wasn’t nearly enough to catch the leader, who was showin no signs of flagging. Longshot Consolidator Cielo tucked in just behind the leaders, and just came along for the ride, ending right where he started, in the third slot. Once the running order was established, there wasn’t a change from just after the break all the way to the wire, with no second half surprises. Flying Fortress BG was a length and a quarter out at the wire to take second, with Consolidator Cielo tucked into third, three lengths out at the wire.
