Last weekend in the great state of New Hampsire was the Grade III running of the Prize Winner Stakes, a turf race run over a distance of a mile and one eigth. Ten horses drew in on Saturday to what looked like a top notch field that was sure to not disappoint. Sure to form the race did not dissapoint the fans in the packed grandstand on Saturday. All horses loaded into the gates without much delay and waited for the bell to sound.
First out of the gate to lead by a narrow half length was A Wholenuworld <\/B>, owned by wfstables <\/I>, in second was Samaniego (IRE) <\/B>, with Redsadky <\/B>trailing along in third. These two colts were onwed and trained by layeguada <\/I>and sherwood <\/I>respectufully. In fourth and fith were Dubeye <\/B>and Seeking Sal <\/B>, owed by daedalus <\/I>and keryn <\/I>. Trailing the pack early on in the race, ten and three-fourths lengths off the pace was Neon Swan <\/B>trained and owned by db <\/I>.
That the second call A Wholenuworld <\/B>still had the lead, now by a length and a hlaf, Samaniego (IRE) <\/B>and Redsadky <\/B>still held on to second and third. The remainder of the field also contined to hold their previoius postions.
Coming down toward the end it was still A Wholenuworld <\/B>in the lead, Redsadky <\/B>had moved from third and up into second with Samaniego (IRE) <\/B>falling back into fourth. Now in third was the fast closing Seeking Sal <\/B>. Fading from frouth and back into fifth was Dubeye <\/B>. Gaining ground and moving into the sixth slot was masterab <\/I>owned Golden Slope <\/B>. Final Fan <\/B>, owned by nextbonus <\/I>had stated making a big move from back in ninth and was now in seventh and closing. Ostend Lad <\/B>and longshot Danecity T <\/B>owned by stalmanu2 <\/I>and teefarms <\/I>began fading further back in the pack. Still trailing the rest of the field, though gaining ground, was Neon Swan <\/B>.
Finally the field was sprinting towards the wire, Seeking Sal <\/B>and Redsadky <\/B>battling for supremecty with Seeking Sal <\/B>clinching the win at the wire by half a length, Redsadky <\/B>in second and the fading A Wholenuworld <\/B>finishing in the show positon. Seeking Sal <\/B>and Redsadky <\/B>both turned in impressive speed figues of one hundred ten.
