This week in Illinois we find for some unknown reason a 2 yr filly Stakes race with only 4 entries. Verystrange to me , but that’s the way it is this week. Two year old fillies going 5.5f on the fast dirt, i suppose the shortsprint may be part of the short field, but not entirely. Of the four fillies running, 3 of them are below 2/1 in odds andthe lone long shot comes in at 7/1. Let’s take a look at these four fillies and the smart trainers that found a mightygood spot to pick up some easier than normal points.
pp1) – 7/5 – Pleaserememberme (Vindication / Nureyev) (H) – DESPERADO – D. McCants (12%) – 2 wins from 3 starts , and the furthest this speedy filly has ran is today’s 5.5f stakes , pretty sure this filly belongs tofellow Mn. resident Rob (Desperado) , but sometimes i’m wrong on those facts. Last out this filly beat 13 other filliesin an alw race going 5f in :58.6 for an 80 spd# , in that race this filly found herself not on the lead for the 1st timeand she responded well with a pressing victory. Her 80 spd is the best to date, but she’ll need another strong race totake this win, she does look well rested and strong ! good luck Rob, if that’s you :=) –
pp2) – 9/5 – Best Babe(IRE) (King’s Best / Hennessy) (H) – MAHJONG – K. Johnston (11%) – 5starts and she’s never missed the top 3 finish including 1 win and 3 places, her last out 77 spd at 6f in a Stakes gaveher a 3rd place finish, she’s been running better every other start, so she needs to break that pattern here to contendit appears, she likes the lead and will be an early pace factor with the #1, i think 5.5f will be a good thing for her ifshe avoids the bounce .
pp3) – 7/1 – Literal Connection (Storm Creek / Captain Steve) (H) – BLUEANGELS – M. Reveiz(15%) – lone price shot filly makes her fifth start, and she’s won 3 of her first 4 starts, but, all 3 wins were amongstthe claiming ranks, so this will be another test of her class. her last run was at 6.5f and she ran a 73 spd#, she alsoshows a clm win with today’s jock , who’s been on fire this season, she’ll need continued improvement, but she’llmost likely never find a better spot to possibly get some stakes points. comes back in 4 weeks and she’ll be runninglate.
pp4) – 9/5 – Montana Prize (Pure Prize / Mr. Prospector) (H) – BIGSKY5 – P. Munoz (21%) – topjock takes this undefeated gal as she’s 2 for 2 including a last out 79 spd at today’s distance, she’s a late runner thatshould have some pace to run at even in this short field, capable of another step forward, but these are 2 year oldfillies so there’s always some doubt as well. she appears to have an edge, along with the #1 filly , but must comeback strong again off a 4 week rest, looks capable of the win .
……………. Good luck to these runners and trainers, the 1-4 exacta looks like my choice, but not much value to behad vs risk . Let’s bring them back all RTG at worst!!

[2,3,1

post-241","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews","category-reviews","category-uncategorized
["GET
