Cat Five Cyclone went one better than any of the others in the Queensland Juvenile, becoming Mr. Greeley’s first stakes winner from the class of 2006.

Haloman(Ire) broke alertly and set the early pace, but Cat Five Cyclone was rating kindly in second by the first call, biding his time until late in the race. C. Wyatt showed him the whip in the stretch and the Ydracing3 trainee bounded forward, finding his way to the wire three parts of a length in front of the dead-game Haloman. Mozart’s Quest spent the race in near lockstep with Set the Standard, but nabbed third in a headbob photo.

Desktop Rollout faded a bit to sixth and first-time starter Jenyan(GB) may have struggled with the surface, while Regimental Beat(Aus) and Rocka Bye Baby(Aus) never factored in.

Cat Five Cyclone is a homebred son of Mr. Greeley out of a Storm Cat mare. The $50,000 Queensland Juvenile makes him two for two and lands him third in his class overall. He covered the six furlongs in 1:11 and 2/5 for a quite-respectable 80 speed rating. Mr. Greeley’s never had a graded stakes winner in the sim.
