My job was to watch the last workout before the big dance for Remember Tampero. From a distance I saw his trainer triska and he invited me to join him. He was smiling and I noted he spoke very confidently about his horse.<\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><o:p>\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\">\u201cWhich one is him? \u201c \u2013 I asked<\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><o:p>\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\">\u201cThe grey one in the backstretch\u201d \u2013 He replied.<\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><o:p>\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\">The work was from the five eights pole. He was a little lazy at first, but when his jockey asked him to run, he just exploded, running the last quarter mile in a solid 23:4. The work was timed at 1:00: 2\/5.<\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><o:p>\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\">\u201cIvan, I am confident with this horse. He has developed a little later than what we expected, but he is clearly improving as the distance increases, and the <st1:City w:st=\"on\"><st1:place w:st=\"on\">Derby<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> will be his longer task so far. I know he is a long distance horse. If I was not sure he can compete with these, we will have not penciled him into the race. If we are lucky enough to have a pace to run against, you can count on him flying on the stretch, and with some improvement, we can be smelling the roses on Saturday\u201d<\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><o:p>\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\">\u201cGood luck triska\u201d \u2013 I said<\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><o:p>\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\">\u201cThanks\u201d \u2013 he replied, as he gave Tampero a nice pat on his back.<\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><o:p>\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\">I really think this horse can win at a 16-1 ML.
