\"Kyclocker2Fame Or Fortune has lived up to her name well with four wins and two places in just seven starts, with earnings of $364,460. Fame is an elegant, tall bay filly with a lightning bolt whit marking on her face. The daughter of Smarty Jones is out of an unknown Seattle Slew mare who\u2019s damn was a daughter of the great Northern Dancer. The proud owner, and trainer kyclocker2<\/I> was too jittery to be able to talk with me about his filly\u2019s chances on Saturday in the Oaks. However while I was in the barn I snuck over to give his star a peppermint, in which she quietly nickered in delight for the treat. <\/P>

Jockey W. Baumann has been aboard the filly all week for her public gallops at Dawn in Kentucky. Baumann has spoken highly of Fame Or Fortune all week long, and beamed as we spoke today saying his filly may be a longer shots at 18\/1, but she is talented, and with the expected fast track she will be a top contender.<\/P>

In fact Fame Or Fortune has never been off the board on a fast track. In her last start in the Iool G1 she finished tenth running over a very sloppy track. That race is absolutely a throw away race and should not be used to determine the quality of this filly. Ranked 18th<\/SUP> in her division she made it to this race with just two starts as a two year old, winning her second time out stretching to a mile. From her maiden race she went on to win an open allowance then a listed stakes before ending her streak with a second place in the G1 Sweet Nanette Stakes. Off of that effort she came back strong to win the Fantasia G2. When this filly runs, she runs big. Her shortest margin of victory has been by 2.5 lengths. <\/P>

On Saturday we should expect for her to lay off the pace, by less than half a dozen lengths and close in from there. Breaking from the eighth post will allow her to drop back but stay towards the outside and avoid getting blocked in. She also may need to be able to handle a quicker pace as some of her opponents have triple digit speed figures. The only problem I\u2019ve seen with her is in the afternoons while she has been schooling in the paddock in between races she has been getting a little hot, and nervous. It is important that she doesn\u2019t run her race in the paddock, but holds it until its time to run the race of her life.<\/P>

It is in this writer\u2019s opinion that if you want a value bet you make it Fame Or Fortune, she\u2019s been some of her rivals before and can do it again at a hefty 15\/1 price! <\/P>
