A firm turf surface is awaiting a field of fillies & mares who will be running a distance of a mile and a half.\u00a0\u00a0 It’s a claiming event with a price tag of $17,500. and gals age 3 and up are eligible.\u00a0 Eight runners have entered the event:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 Flying Chant\u00a0\u00a0 4\/1<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Last trip to the winner’s circle was March, 2013 so it’s been a long time for this gal.\u00a0 She’s showing signs of life in last two races, going 10f and 10.5f where she finished 2nd and third with a little late run ability, something that has been lacking for quite a while.\u00a0 Adds some distance which may help.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 2.\u00a0 Deadly Prospect\u00a0 31\/1<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Off the board in two grass trips and hopes to put that to an end with third start on surface.\u00a0\u00a0 Has had her ups and downs during 9-race career.\u00a0\u00a0 Claimed in May and new owner has been experimenting a bit, this time sending her half mile longer than she’s gone before hoping to rattle something good out of her.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 3.\u00a0 My Ranaissance\u00a0 10\/1<\/strong><\/p>\n Was second in last in high end $125k claiming race in small field, losing a tad of ground late in 10f race.\u00a0 Prior pair of races were a little longer and she finished double digits in lengths behind.\u00a0\u00a0 Goes longer distance and she has not won a race over 10 furlongs since 2012.\u00a0 Tough task ahead.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 4.\u00a0 The Bear Did It\u00a0 9\/1<\/strong><\/p>\n Suffered bad injury in February resulting in 2-month layoff.\u00a0\u00a0 Returned with low 61 speed, finishing second and offtrack looked to have impact.\u00a0 In June she finished fifth with nice late close in race at 9.5f and 86 speed.\u00a0\u00a0 Appears to have recovered from injury, speed looks good here, extra distance helps.\u00a0\u00a0 Could be nice surprise.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 5.\u00a0 Point Ultima\u00a0 6\/5<\/strong><\/p>\n Made return to turf in last, finishing fourth with 86 speed for 9.5 furlongs.
