The winner is out of Mineshaft and improved his record to 19-9-4-0, with earnings of $869,345 for trainer <I style=\"mso-bidi-font-style: normal\">khalasar<\/I>.<\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\"><?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = \"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office\" \/><o:p>\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P><P class=MsoNormal style=\"MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt\">There were very few alternatives in this event, with the winner taking the lead and eventually drawing off with up to six lengths. At the start, it was <STRONG>Rhodes Scholar<\/STRONG> and <STRONG>Brilliant<\/STRONG> who served as escorts. At the stretch, <STRONG>Balerion<\/STRONG> went on with his trouncing performance and although the largest shot on the board, <STRONG>Swampy Sturm<\/STRONG>, was gaining ground against him, the winner\u2019s victory was in no danger at any moment.
