Only 8 entrants but most are in with a shout.

KING STALWART (STALWART x KINGSBRIDGE x HERO’S HONOR)
First recent run in a stakes and has a recent best of only 95sp inallowances. Only 1 win in her last eight, in an optional allowance and out of her depth here. 12/1 on the morning line is short, 30/1 would be fairer.

SPIRT SELECT (WAYZATA x GONE WEST x DAMASCUS)
Another with no recent stakes runs but she has broken the 100sp barrier recently and has cosistantly put up some high 90’s sp, with three recent victories. The only worry is that she has looked better of 7f but she is still a threst. Look for her to be closing late.

ANT’S HONOR (GULCH x FAIRY KING x GALLANT MAN)
Was running really well in stakes this season until her latest start. I assume there must have been a slight injury, and that run asside she would walk this. Likes to sit near the front and ease away in the final quarter. If at her best she will take some stopping today.

SHE BOOTS (STORM BOOT x MISWAKI x RACONTEUR)
Has one or two decent stakes runs recently and the morning line 12/1 looks generous- she has a much better chance the KING STALWART at the same price. Has looked better over 7f and may now want stepped upped to 8f or more. Wont win today but may sneak a place.

T JUMPSTER (JUMP START x MISWAKI x ROBERTO)
Anothe rallowance horse with no recent stakes run and only 1 recent win, but no sp’s above 95. Again has no chance today and the 10/1 is way too short.

OROKA AKUBA(JPN) (SUNDAY BREAK (JPN) x LURE x DUBASSOFF)
An interesting one at a big price. Only ten runs and her two recent stakes runs were not without promise. Looks to want shorter and may benefit from front running but is overpriced at 11/1 and has a solid shot at getting into the top three.

FLEURY (FORTY NINER x SILVER BUCK x SECRETARIAT)
Has some pretty nice runs including graded company but has been better over 7f+ recently and looks ready for a step back up to a mile. Definite top three but will her closing run come too late for the win?

DEPUTY DANZIG (DEPUTY MINISTER x FORTY NINER x DANZIG)
Real nice run latest over 7f in an allowance but all her best recent runs have come at 7f+. Another who will be closing late, she can make the top three at her best but looks to want further to me.

Overall a fairly low class stakes race for Newmarket, with most of the runners being allowance horses really. ANT’S HONOR to win for me followed closely by FLEURY in second and OROKA AKUBA(JPN) a surprise third.

[2

post-2312","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
