Spring is just around the corner here in British Columbia and we are ready for Cinco de Mayo early at the Si’ Senorita Special Stakes Race. We have a relatively small field but it is fairly evenly matched so we should have an exciting race.. Let\u2019s take a look:<\/font>\t\t\t\t\t

(BEAT HOLLOW (GB) x SILVER HAWK x RAISE A BID) This little filly has been struggling a bit of late with a couple of Stakes races with lackluster results in her past two. Before that she had won an allowance after an injury in the Ton Painting Memorial Allowance Stakes. Trainer Reminder is hoping that she is fully recovered now and ready to get back on stride. She has a good jockey in the irons in Kidder and he will get the most out of her. Her inside post won\u2019t help much as she likes to slide back anyway. <\/p>\n

(GIANT’S CAUSEWAY (IRE) x PENTELICUS x LITTLE NUREYEV) This is one of our favorites and with \u201cGOOD CAUSE\u201d. She has been very competitive although not finding the winners circle for awhile in her nine race career, all in stakes races. Trainer CK2Stable is moving her up in class but she doesn\u2019t have to improve much to find the photo op in the circle. This might be the place.<\/p>\n

(BEST OF THE BESTS (IRE) x VICTORY SPEECH x RUBIANO) This Biblically named chestnut filly has a three race win streak going and will be in her very first Stakes race. She should have plenty of energy left after cruising to nearly a three length win with only an 81 SPF in her last race. Tranier TheProfit0 knows how to saddle them up and jockey Harty sure knows how to ride them so this may be a formidable trio. You may want to jump on this morning line and win a few bucks.<\/p>\n

(STORM CAT x SEEKING THE GOLD x A.P. INDY) This big filly is really battle tested for a three year old. She has won most of the battle too as she has finished first or second in thirteen of her fourteen races. She just recently moved to one mile grass outings and seems to have found her best fit. Trainer Dagrims2 has an amazing win percentage and you can see why when he is willing to take a successful horse and change things this drastically with excellent results. Together, they should be hard to beat.<\/p>\n

She has had a couple of lackluster outings on distances longer and shorter than this one and trainer HeyThere seems to be having a hard time finding her niche. You can bet that the perfect tonic for what ails her would be a strong showing here and with Bauder in the saddle that is always a good possibility.<\/p>\n

(STROLL x RAINBOW QUEST x CAERLEON) This filly has been driving trainer OnTarget2 crazy. She was on top of her game last year going into her proud accomplishment of qualifying for the illustrious Breeders Bowl after a second in the GSR Diamond GI. Since that time, she has finished no higher than sixth place in her five races. OnTarget2 has tried different training methods and diet but it has all been to no avail. He has the tracks hottest jockey holding the reins in Rolling so if he can\u2019t turn her around after this drop in class it will really be a mystery.<\/p>\n

(GLITTERMAN x FIRST ALBERT x THE MINSTREL) Finishing in the money in all of your seven first races and improving all the time is a great way to start your career and this Glitterman sired filly has that on her resume. She ran her first Stakes race in her last outing and finished third by a narrow margin after a strong move in the stretch. Trainer Olympic has done a good job bringing her along and has her in the capable hands of Huey in this race. This would be a great time to add to that resume.<\/p>\n

(SAKHEE x DAYLAMI (IRE) x KINGMAMBO) Three back this pretty little cream colored filly ran her only turf mile on a firm track and popped her very best race and SPF. She could be a real surprise here with a hot jockey in Phelps in the saddle and the outside post where she can keep free from trouble. Trainer Kona seems to have picked just the right place for his filly to come from nowhere and surprise the bettors and the rest of this field. Stay Tuned! <\/p>\n

A fairly even race with some really nice looking fillies, I like GOOD CAUSE <\/b> to finish fourth. In a bit of an upset, I think that COOLRUNNER <\/b> can challenge here and should make the board. The top two are a toss up but it looks to me that GLITTER NET <\/b> isn\u2019t quite ready to beat out STORM HUNTER <\/b> and she should be able to hold on for the win.<\/p>\n
