This one will be six furlongs on the fast dirt course for a purse of $65,000. This is the second annual running of this race. Last year’s inaugural edition was won by Big Man’s Bridge. We have an almost full field of thirteen going to post in this one, including several familiar faces at this track. Let’s take a look at the runners.

On the rail at 62/1 is Leestown Affair (Leestown x Colonial Affair) owned by dblpfarm. He is a 4yo and ran here in Ireland last time out. He is a stakeswinner, but has been down on his luck lately. C. Shull(8%) hopes he can turn him around.

In post two at 3/1 is Closed Book (Open Forum x Raconteur) owned by alleds. He is a 5yo and is ranked #67 in the dirt spring division. He won two in a row before a disappointing finish 4 lengths back in the G1 at the Dubai Festival. F. Dirks(18%) is a solid rider.

In post three at 15/1 is Boy Ali (Highland Blade x Nodouble) owned by bredtosell. He’s 8 years old, but he’s still quick out the gate, and loves to run on the lead. He ran third by less than a length here in Ireland two races ago, and has a very good jock in P. Adams(19%).

In post four at 12/1 is Shannon’s Papoose (Affirmed x Fappiano) owned by bqs. Another 8yo, he also ran here in Ireland last time out, finishing 4-1/2 lengths back. He won a stakes to open this season, so there’s still some life in the old boy. S. Collins(14%) gets the call.

In post five at 6/1 is Chester Academy (Chester House x Royal Academy) owned by jwolfe607. He is a 5yo and is coming off an allowance victory in Italy. He has a nice stalking style and won a stakes already this year. Hot jockey E. Newcomb(21%) takes the reins.

In post six at 8/1 is Its Allinthe Stars (Grand Slam x Danzig) owned by lawdro. He is a 4yo and has run his last three races here in Ireland. He won the first two, but came up short in a stakes last time out. Unfortunately, that performance didn’t sit well with the jockeys here, and the best he could get for this one was Purnell Jenkins (6%).

In post seven at 62/1 is North Kyogle (Parade Marshal x Desert Sun(GB)) owned by kyogle. He is a 5yo, and ran second in his last start in Ireland three races ago. However, he was unable to procure the services of a decent jockey this time, getting N. Schreiber(0%) who is in a terrible funk this year.

In post eight at 22/1 is local Irish horse Tull’s Party(Ire) (Indian Danehill(Ire) x Forty Niner) owned by ildottore3. He is a 4yo and is a bit of a late maturing colt, just starting to really run. He’s won two in a row now, and likes to run about the middle of the pack. Fred Robbins(7%) isn’t the greatest choice though.

In post nine at 8/1 is another local Irish horse, Prince Jerry (Forty Niner x Secretariat), owned by crowbar. Another elderly gentleman at 8 years of age, he’s been knocking around stakes races and hitting the board in most of them. His closing kick will match up perfectly with Ireland’s best rally girl, E C Doyle(10%).

In post ten at 7/2 is My Sheba T (Kinshasa x Alysheba) owned by tsyndicate. He is a 4yo and is ranked #9 in the dirt sprint division. He’s coming off a win in the G3 Nasty n’Bold Handicap in Norway, and won the G1 Deep South Sprint to close out last season. This would seem to be a drop in class for him, but C. Rice(10%) sure doesn’t mind.

In post eleven at 41/1 is Ruby Cecil L (Citidancer x Relaunch) owned by boxhead100. He is a 7yo, and won a race right here in Ireland last time out. He is stakesplaced several times, but has yet to win one. With G. Tiggle(3%) up, this probably won’t be his day.

In post twelve at 7/1 is Pais Vasco (Forestry x Alydar) owned by zalamy. He is a 5yo and has been taking it easy this year, having only run twice so far. His last outing resulted in a close fourth-place finish in a stakes on a sloppy track. He has drawn top jockey Z. Kentucky(19%).

Rounding out the field in lucky post thirteen, at 9/1, is Umay Callme Zimmy (Petionville x Danzig), owned by 22yoke. He is a 4yo and has been running very well recently, winning two of his last three and hitting the board in a stakes last time out. He seems to have changed styles in those races, learning how to rate a bit. M. Tippett(10%) is not a bad choice.

That is our field. Quite the collection we have here this week! From a G1 winner to former claimers, just turned 4yos to the seasoned veteran 8yos. Can the graded winner and top ten ranked colt hold off the older guys who have the experience to bring it all when called upon to do so? Find out right here on Saturday. Good luck to all the runners, and may they all come home sound.

[2

post-2280","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
