Todays race brings together some of the best horses in the classic dirt division such as SOLAR SONG who is ranked at #5 KISSIN COUSIN II and CRAFTY VICTORY who are #15 and #16 respectivly, and also we have a few more trying to climb the rankings such as FORTY SCOOBS and UNION BAY. With all this talent on show this will be a very exciting race indeed so lets take a look at the form guide and try to find you a winner
PP1
KISSIN COUSIN II Current Owner: sherwood
SADLER’S WELLS x GONE WEST x NIJINSKY II 4/1 Z Edwards
Interesting name for a male horse! That aside KISSIN COUSIN II is one of the top horses of the sim with over $1,000,000 in prize money. This very well bred 5yo is a 6 time stake winner and also won the Movieland Shiny Cup-G1 less than a year ago so far this year he has had only 3 starts with 2 stake victorys, but last time out he ran a disapointing 7th to #17 ranked horse LACONIA LIGHT in the California Handicap-G1 over 10 furlongs. TOday he is racing over 9 furlongs for the 1st time since his 3yo days so it will be interesting to see if he can improve (I think he can) but how much improvement is the big question.
PP2
UNION BAY Current Owner: tamure
ACCEPTABLE x RUNAWAY GROOM x MORNING BOB 5/1 G Harmon
Well what a nice horse UNION BAY as turned out to be for tamure , this 6yo grey (almost bargin breed) won his first stakes race just this year The MR. VICTORY Stakes-Stk with an sp of 107. Last start he came out at 2/1 and got to far back but sprinted home well in the The ALI’S TATER Stakes-Stk over 9.5 furlogs. It will be interesting to see if G Harmon (who is in career best form) elects to take the horse to the back of the field or if he sits a little closer today. In my humble opinion I think he must settle no more than 8 or 9 lengths of the leader to be a factor in the finish.
PP3
APPLE SPLASH
Game Dam : AKEGFORME(IRE) Current Owner: jarid
FORBIDDEN APPLE x GENEROUS(IRE) x BUCKSPLASHER 14/1 C McGhee
This is going to be a very tough assignment for this 4yo FORBIDDEN APPLE colt who after leading California Handicap-G1 droped back to finnish a dissapointin 8th. After starting his career out as a turf horse APPLE SPLASH has matured into a nice dirt horse who has won twice at stake level including The TALENTED CHOICE Memorial-Stk only 3 starts back but he only rated 99 and it will need to be a lot higher to win this. The thing I love about this horse though is he will lead and make the pace and dictate the race, so if he can get a good gap he might be in the finish.
PP4
SPLINTER CELL Current Owner: latechat
DEHERE xCRESTA RIDER x RUNAWAY GROOM 36/1 H Cain
Well there is no other way to say it but SPLINTER CELL is the rank outsider and deserves that tag (sorry latechat). Last start it was very disapointing for latchat as SPLINTER CELL was injured and not only that was distanced in The EAST TILL STORM Stakes-Stk over 8.5 furlongs. I believe that he can improve though as he is a stake winner as a 2yo, perhaps a change in tactics or even surface might give the horse that someting different he needs but this race isn’t it.
PP5
SOLAR SONG Current Owner: squirrel4
DEPUTY MINISTER x NUREYEV x BOLD RULER 2/1 H Harzheim
Well what is not to like about this fella 6 time stake winner and 3 time grade 1 winner and ranked #5 in the division and most important of all 2/1 favorite. He is comming off a win in the Sand Castle Classic-G1 and he has also won the EDDIE ARERO-G1 this year. He has the man H Harzheim in the saddle who has been on fire this season and will be very hard to beat but I have noticed that SOLAR SONG does not race anywhere near as good over 9 furlongs as he does 10 furlongs. Will this bring the son of DEPUTY MINISTER undone?
PP6
SNAKE
Based On : SEATTLE FLING Current Owner: deepblue
FORTY NINER x SEATTLE SLEW x QUIET FLING 16/1 R Sailor
6yo horse not racing very well and placed very poorly. He was a G3 winner as a 2yo but that was 4 years ago. Last start ran a dismal 8th in an allowence over 10 furlongs and has not got even close since late last year. Even the jockey R Sailor is in poor form. (sorry deepblue for the negative comments but I call them as I see them) I think this horse should drink a gallon of Red Bull before the race because it will need to grow wings to win this.
PP7
CRAFTY VICTORY Current Owner: ssj4vegeta
VICTORY GALLOP x CRAFTY PROSPECTOR x EASTERN ECHO 5/1 T Jay
Won over $1,000,000 winner of the Pleasure Stakes-G3, the Sand Castle Derby-G2 , Hollywood Knights Classic-G3 and the Winchester Park Derby-G2 and in the money in 3 G1 races this year. Jockey T Jay must have prayed long and hard to get this plumb ride (what was ssj4vegeta thinking). After all T jay has only won 1 race this year in 41 starts, will this cost CRAFTY VICTORY a win today. You have to respect the horse he puts in speed figures of around 107 and is 5/1 but ssj4vegeta has broken Magoo2912’s rule No 1 Choose you jockey wisley so I will put my reputaion on the line and say he can’t win!
PP8
SITH Current Owner: lurve
FORTY NINER x NORTHERN DANCER x GREY DAWN II 11/1 S L Ledwith
Lightly raced 4yo who is trying to make the transition from allowence horse to graded horse. Last time out in the Someone Set Us Up The Bomb Stakes-G3 the class of the other runners was a bit to much for him as was the 12 furlongs. Today back to a more suitible distance which may make him a factor in the finish . The Trainer lurve must have been thanking his lucky stars when he got S L Ledwith to take the ride as Ledwith is winning 1 in every 4 races this season. So for that reason alone I’m thinking he may be a chance to win because if Ledwith can see somthing in him he must be a chance.
PP9
FORTY SCOOBS Current Owner: theogbarn
FORTY NINER x SADLER’S WELLS x SECRETARIAT 5/1 D Lakencher
Well the last time I covered this horse only 3 weeks ago I said he was not up to them and was just a trifecta horse and boy did he make me eat my words winning by a length in the Sand Castle Godolfin Mile-G3. theogbarn is a very young but very good barn that is starting to make a name for itself and by far the best horse in that barn is this one FORTY SCOOBS he has fantastic breeding and has been very consistant at stake and graded level of late. I expect him to be in the lead at about the 2 furlong pole but the question is will he stay there?

Well after all that I’m going to stick with the favorite SOLAR SONG as he is the class horse of the field but I think FORTY SCOOBS is going to get a break on SOLAR SONG so it will be close, for 3rd I think it will be a toss up between KISSIN COUSIN II, UNION BAY and SITH of the 3 I think UNION BAY is the best horse but Why has S L Ledwith chosen to ride SITH does he know something I don’t? Suggested bet Trifecta 5,9-2,5,8,9-1,2,5,8,9 and I’ve got my reputation on the line with CRAFTY VICTORY as I don’t think he will ran a place. Good luck to all the trainers and if you have any comments you can leave them in the BTB Forum and any tips can go to account magoo2912.

[2

post-2146","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
