The Gold State Challenge<\/I> for 2 year olds will run on a fast dirt track for a distance of 5 1\/2 furlongs for a purse of $70,000. There is a field of six horses — the most experienced horse has two races.
The heavy favorite is Hey Nineteen<\/b> coming in at 4\/5 winning his only race on a sloppy track. Will try to fend off the rest of the field. Nebakanezer<\/B> coming in at 2\/1 was a big winner in his last race at 7 furlongs now dropping down to 5 1\/2 should provide quite a show.
This brings us to Buku Kirbys<\/B> at 5\/1 is good money with a big win in his last race of 6 1\/2 furlongs. He should give Nebakanezer a good run for his money.
Rounding out the field are the only two ladies in the race. The first is in her maiden run Thundercaster<\/B>. She comes from the fine lines of SpellcasterII and she should be a strong contender. She falls into place at 11\/1. Finally, we have the other lady Firstin<\/B> at 12\/1. She is coming off her very first race at 5 furlongs (just came up short in her last start). She seems to want to be a closer coming from eight place and finished 2nd by a neck.
