For those relatively new or if you have been around and have just never heard of us the Bargain Bred Racing Series is the most awesome fun you can possibly have with cheaply bred runners. We have 66 stakes races that encompass every racing division throughout the year. That does not include the additional allowances and maidens for two year olds which probably number close to 50 races so over 100 races a year for the Bargain Bred.

These are not your average everyday bargains. It takes a certain skill, or patients, breeding bargain after bargain to get that stakes winner. The competition is tough with top runners routinely running 100+ speed figures in many of the divisions. We prove every year bargain bred runners can run fast plus they tend to be good for longer periods of time.

It is time to start to celebrate our champions from the 2013 racing season. We had our year end championship day (The Bargain Bowl) on November 30, 2013 in Louisiana. In this article we will look at two and three year olds. Our year end awards are determined based on finishes in races for that division. Points are awarded for the first 5 places and at the end of the year the runners with the highest accumulated points in the division walk away with our year end award, the Bargie.

Two Year Old Filly Dirt

This division consists of the six furlong Della Street, the one mile Fizzy Miss and the one mile Meadow Star. Fly into a Net, out of the Texas sire Early Flyer, stamped herself the early favorite with a gate to wire win in the Della Street. She followed that up with a gate to wire win in the Fizzy Miss. She held a demanding divisional lead going into the Bargain Bowl.

Victoria’s Secrets ran second to Fly into a Net in the Della Street. In her next start she tried the turf and ran second in the Vandergriff Park. At the Bargain Bowl in the Meadow Star These two runners faced off for the second time. It was the daughter of Stately Victory, Victoria’s Secrets that beat Fly into a Net to the punch to get the lead. The two fillies dueled with Victoria’s Secrets survived the duel and held off Libri Prohibiti for the win. Fly into a Net faded after the duel finishing fourth.

Its results like this where awarding points for finishes in the division just does not seem to do the division justice. I believe in being rewarded for trying different surfaces or distances and if you find success there that should be a plus. In the three divisional races Fly into a Net earned 23 points to Victoria’s Secrets 21 points. However I feel compelled to honor Victoria’s Secrets who probably wins the division if she does not try turf or takes the turf division if she did not try dirt. So we have Co Bargie Winners. Bargies go to both Fly Into A Net and Victoria’s Secrets. Congrats to the connections Lgbost is a long time Bargain Bred Racing participant and has had many good runners. By the way she is looking really strong as a three year old.

Two Year Old Filly Turf

The two year old filly turf division consists of the six furlong Starinsky, the one mile Vandergriff Park and the one mile Misallocation. Three races and we had three different winners. The Starinsky was all about Full of Fog who stalked the early pace and ran on in the stretch to win by a length and a half. To this point she has been a sprinter so did not contest the other two races. She did take the turf sprint allowance at the Bargain Bowl and won her debut as a three year old a few weeks ago.

The Vandergriff Park was the stakes debut of Time to Turn. This daughter of Paco’s Boy won an allowance prior to the Vandergriff Park by three plus lengths. In the Vandergriff she sat off the pace and closed well winning by almost two lengths so was a solid favorite going into the Bargain Bowl. In the Misallocation Lle Creoso was making just her second start. She got loose on the lead and Time to Turn could not run her down but finished a solid second.

The Bargie goes to Time to Turn. She earned 19 divisional points with Lle Creoso finishing second with 15 points. Congrats to the Mtk stables on another fine runner. If you are curios both Time to Turn and Lle Creoso had winning debuts as three year olds.

Two Year Old Colt Dirt

The races in this division are the six furlong Amity, the one mile Ginger Ale, and the one mile Charlie Tiger. Force Fourth was probably the top two year old dirt sprinter and he showed why in the Amity. After sitting off the pace he pounced home for a half-length win over his fast closing stable mate Another Compliment.Next on the Ginger Ale One Hitt Wonder was coming off a solid allowance win and closed with a flash to beat Another Compliment by half a length on the wire.

This setup for a showdown between One Hitt Wonder and hard luck Another Compliment at the Bargain Bowl. The pace was a little quick in the Charlies Tiger which set up these closers. Another Compliment was closer to the pace and got the jump on One Hitt Wonder. At the top of the stretch Another Compliment took control and closed strongly to win by three lengths over One Hitt Wonder.

The Bargie goes to Another Compliment. He earned 27 divisional points to One Hitt Wonder’s 19 points. Hopefully these two will renew their rivalry in the coming months. Congrats to the Gowans stables.

Two Year Old Colt Turf

This division consists of the six furlong Sandford, the one mile Winchester and the one mile Class Ack. When the series started in the Sandford Newbar Choux was a maiden. Despite that he had run well in maidens and a was a favorite. He went to the lead in the Sandford and held on for a three quarter length win over Al’s Lover. He then went onto the Winchester where he pressed the pace then went on to beat Zante Regal by a half-length. Then it was onto the Bargain Bowl where he made every pole a winning one in the Class Ack winning by almost two lengths over Maipuran.

The Bargie goes to Newbar Choux who won all three stakes races for two year old turf runners. Hawkz trains many really good runners and this is another in his stable. Newbar Choux has run well as a three year old in the early going. This set of 2013 two year olds will do some damage as three year olds.

Three Year old Colt Dirt

Three races make up this division with the mile and a sixteenth Ozark, the mile and three sixteenth Bargain Derby and the mile and three eighths Bronx. The Ozark has traditionally been a hard race to figure and Karaka Stutz kept that tradition alive. He started his career on turf and won his first dirt race on Bargie day last year. That seemed to propel him as he held on in deep stretch to win the Ozark by a quarter length at odds of nearly fourteen to one. He backed up this new found form with a resounding four and a half length win in the Bargain Derby. That pretty much wrapped up three year old dirt colt honors.

With Karaka Stutz not running in the Bronx Shea Inspired took advantage. He settled just off the pace and made a spirited stretch run to get up by three quarters of a length. He would go on to finish second in the Bargain Classic in the fall.

The Bargie goes to Karaka Stutz. Hawkz earns another Bargie. Karaka Stutz also won the Gumball Mile and ran second in the Sir Bear mile at the Bargain Bowl. He shows no signs of slowing down earning a 107 speed figure in January. Congrats Hawkz.

Three Year old Filly Dirt

Races that make up this division are the seven and a half furlong Ozark Diamond, the mile and sixteenth Bargain Oaks and the mile and three sixteenths Queens. In the Ozark Diamond it was the favorite Angurugu who proved to be much the best stalking and closing to win by two lengths. In the Oaks Tough Karaka set the pace and never looked back. She was a solid second in the Ozark Diamond and in the Oaks was not pressured and she made them pay winning by almost three lengths.

In the Queens Tomato Gravy hustled to the lead and played catch me if you can. Tough Karaka was put in a stalking position which lead to a great stretch run. Tough Karaka kept grinding away closing the gap but ran out of real estate as Tomato Gravy held on by a head.

The Bargie goes to Tough Karaka who earned 22 points in the division. Angurugu and Tomato Gravy were second with ten points each. Hawks sweeps the three year old dirt division. Tough Karaka went on to finish second at the Bargain Bowl in the Cemetary Winter Distaff. Great job Hawkz.

Three Year Old Turf

The races that make up this division are the six furlong Bourbon Trail, the one mile 100 Guineas, and the mile and a half Bargain Turf Derby. Three races produced three winners. Atacama Fossil used a strong closing kick to run down Arcano Opera who set the pace. At the 100 Guineas Arcano Opera set the pace again but was run down by Mambo Broto this time around. When the Turf Derby came around it was once again Arcano Opera setting the pace but this time around no one was running him down. He was never really challenged and stayed on to win by almost five lengths.

The Bargie goes to Arcano Opera. He was there at every distance earning 22 divisional points. Arcano Opera went on to a pretty good second half off the year as we will discuss a little later. Congrats to Mtk stables on their second Bargie.

That wraps up the two and three year old divisions. As you can see there are some really fast young horses that will be competing in 2014. We will get to sprinters and milers in the next article and if you are interested we welcome new players to the series, it is open to the entire sim I will have more information in following articles.

Ten years of Bargain Racing is in the books, and I can’t believe it! 2013 was a great year and

[4

post-19575","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-general
["GET
