He has made it two wins in a row on the off turf coming from middle of the pack for an easy one length win. It was a good thing the veteran jockey Vince Gannon was in the irons for Big Thunder as he guided the big brown horse through a narrow gap on the inside only he seemed to see to pop out near the front and brought home to place. Even with a good start, Sino Rainbow could not improve on his position in any way. So he just kind of flowed along coming in over four lengths behind the winner.
Up this week is another stakes race named for another forgettable retired mare. Just because she somehow earned a grade 3 win , that being her only stakes level win, the WRC think this is worthy of recognition. Even though WHOA has pointed out several more deserving mares and even a couple known here on the high plains, the WRC doesn’t seem interested. Maybe they are just embarrassed by the choice or to lazy to search for a true quality caliber horse. Whatever the case may be, we have the $50,000 Stupidly Dance Stakes that will cover nine and a half furlong. Even the name renders disbelief from the racing fans. Seven ladies have entered this Saturday’s three year old fillies route and we shall take a look at them. At least they show greater promise and well on their way of eclipsing Stupidly Dance’s meager career.
Aly‘s Chant entered by kobras2. This filly by War Chant has done nothing but improve when turned loose on the grass. She started out the year on a nice note and showed no strain running this long. She now steps up to stakes to see if she can keep her improvement going.
Northern Smoker entered by jockeymax3. This chestnut filly by Gone West has also thrived when she moved to the grass. She has had two strong runs this year with a win last time out. Will step up to her first stakes attempt and see if this kind of distance is really her forte.
Wicked Wench(IRE) entered by tesio. This Irish chestnut, by Mont Jeu, has started her racing this year and only has two races under the saddle. So far she has looked strong and has the best speed rating of the group. She has only run a mile and the extra ground could be a problem for this stalking lady, although she does have the wily old veteran Vince Gannon in the irons.
St Goar entered by unworldly. This filly is by Cuvee, a young son of Carson City. She comes in the most experience dirt runner of the group and even has a graded win. She got a win for her first run on the grass to open the year, but didn’t show a liking one way or the other for it, as she ran about the same as always. Stretching her out this long on the grass could be a telling factor on whether she stays on the surface or not.
Funky Dixieland(IRE) entered by burn2down. This Irish chestnut lass by Black Tie Affair comes in with the most stakes level experience. She seems to have matured some at three, as her times have improved while she has been stretching out. This will be the longest race to date and will definitely need the hot jockey, Jesse Sands, in the irons.
Dead Night entered by samurai. Although this filly by Night Shift is considered the long shot in the field, she is far from it. Her rated speeds are comparable to the others and has no problem going long. The problem is her very poor showing the one time she was on the grass. This could be a strong indication that she does not like the turf, even if it was on her first run. A poor showing here will guarantee a stay on the dirt.
Shuck And Jive(IRE) entered by super28. This roan filly by El Prado will be going for her first win at stakes level. This closing runner has shown she has the stamina to go the distance, but not really the fire needed for a consistent winner. She is consistent with her speeds, but that is just the problem. She seems content to just do that and not improve.

[2,3,1

post-1844","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews","category-reviews","category-uncategorized
["GET
