Maybe this old guy needs to get out a little more! , EMINENT MINSTREL<\/b> apparently got off of the couch and came to Vermont to run. He showed that he still has his stuff and the Green Desert offspring ran them down in the stretch and got his grey whiskers across the line first. He ran a respectable 94 SPF as well. I can only hope that I can run as well as he did when I get to his equivalent age, whatever that may be. Trainer Lenny27 has got to be thinking about letting this guy get out to the racetrack a little more often after this race.<\/p>\n

The opening of this race looked like they opened the doors to the bingo hall at the old folks home. There were horses jumping out front and all over the track. I had picked GREEK JUDGE <\/b> to win the race and he almost pulled it off. Except for a couple of steps at the end, he ran almost a perfect race. He was in the breakout pack and had the lead just a length from the finish until the winner nosed him out. He will most definitely be the favorite in the next race of this entertaining series. AUSTRALIA MAT <\/b> looked really good as well. He was in the far outside post and was seemingly all the way down the hall from the buffet but stayed near the front and just tired a bit at the end. You would tire too if it was your 68th race!! He should also be one of the faves next time out in the series.<\/p>\n

There was also a courageous race run by our host, MEAT LOAF LOOP <\/b>. He was near the lead pack but just didn\u2019t have much to give at the end. Because he didn\u2019t win the race, the same allowance set up should go for the next race in the series. That leaves out the winner, EMINENT MINSTREL<\/b> unless \u201cMEAT\u201d<\/b> wins one down the road. For now, GREEK JUDGE <\/b> and AUSTRALIA MAT <\/b> are the favorites to win this unique series if they can stay near the front and OUT of the winner\u2019s circle. <\/p>\n

Sometime late tomorrow, after today\u2019s excitement has worn off and these old vets have gotten an exhausted night of sleep, the aches and pains will set it and they will wonder once again what they are still doing on the track. Lots of salve and heat will help them out and in four weeks, these wiley old guys will be back to battle MEAT LOAF LOOP <\/b> once again. The heart and competitiveness are willing, hopefully the bodies will be too. Best of luck to all of these fine old guys and gal!<\/p>\n
