Dixieland Again<\/B> ran a solid second half, outlasting the early speedsters and then holding off the closers to snatch a victory in this week\u2019s Sir Land Bonanza. In the mix from the beginning, she had the field by a length and three quarters when they came to the wire. This is her second stakes win, and her first win of any kind since September of last year. She had a career best effort here, and could be looking for big things as her three year old season begins to unfold. The win catapulted her over the 100K mark in earnings, and perhaps more importantly, raised here to rank 37 in the filly Classic Division.<\/P>
The break was very tight in this one, with Spiritwalker, Ball Or Strike(IRE), <\/B>and Dixieland Again all jostling for an early lead. Ball Or Strike(IRE) managed to come out on top in the early going, but not by much, and not for long. Spiritwallker and Dixieland Again surged past at the half, but it was Dixieland Again that finally shook off the heat, holding a length and a half on the field at the top of the stretch, a lead she would never relinquish. Good Cause(IRE)<\/B> was closing hard up the rail as they pushed down the stretch, and picked up two lengths on the leader before she ran out of real estate, taking second place in this one.
