Arizona<\/SPAN><\/B><\/st1:place><\/st1:State> – The Daisy’s Bug Bonanza<\/I> drew me back to <\/SPAN>Arizona<\/SPAN><\/st1:place><\/st1:State>, where many years ago I used to be the beat reporter.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Unfortunately there has been no rain in 106 days and every day since 101 sets a new record.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The air is unbreathable in <\/SPAN>Phoenix<\/SPAN><\/st1:place><\/st1:City> and it’s a good thing the feature is a sprint of six furlongs because I’m sure the horses find it hard to breathe also.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Six horses braved the pollution for the feature and a purse of $60,000.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Daisy’s Bug is a 7YO mare by Corwyn’s Boy and although she is a stakes winner, her only foal is still a maiden.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Drawing the inside is Go <\/B><\/SPAN>Gary<\/SPAN><\/B><\/st1:place><\/st1:City> Velt<\/SPAN><\/B> (3\/1), a 5 YO mare by Desert Royalty.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The former high claimer is trained by Wjobsports<\/I><\/B> and the well muscled chestnut mare has won nine of 38 starts. \u00a0<\/SPAN>She comes into this race with two wins out of her last four starts, both allowances.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She finished fourth last time out in the 6 1\/2 furlong Canadian Iron<\/I> and with her jock looking for his first win of the year, they might be hungry.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Patches<\/SPAN><\/B> (20\/1) will break from post two and is part of an entry from trainer Ladyeve<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>A 4YO dark bay filly by Touch Gold she has only two wins from 24 starts\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Her last win was five races back when she took the field gate to wire in a *245 allowance.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I don’t know whether she has been entered as a rabbit or whether her improved speed figure earned her a place here, but she will need her best.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Post three will hold the second part of trainer Ladyeve’<\/I><\/B>s entry.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Screwball Again<\/B> (3\/1) has a slightly better form and the pretty, 5YO dark grey mare by Smoke Glacken has notched four wins from 39 starts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She won an allowance race two back at 5 1\/2 furlongs in a very close photo, just getting up in time to win by a nose.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Thebigo<\/SPAN><\/I><\/B> must be trying to get his former star Leila<\/B> (5\/2) back on track and may have found a good place to do it.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She is a well-built bright bay 5 YO mare by Danehill and certainly has the back class to take care of this group.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She has 13 wins from 33 starts and has four lifetime stakes victories.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>That\u2019s more stakes wins than the rest of the field combined even if it has been a while.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Evil Action<\/SPAN><\/B> (9\/2) is another solid allowance filly trying to move up the ladder.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She has five wins from 18 starts and is trained by the very capable Lenny6<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Her last win was five races back but pretty headed filly should see part of this. <\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

On the outside will be Happy Land<\/B> (5\/2) a costly 4YO filly by Kingmambo.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She has the best form coming in as she hasn’t been worse than third in her last eight starts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>A blood bay with black points, Happy Land<\/B> is trained by Fairhill<\/I><\/B>, a very smart trainer and although she has been mainly racing in allowances she did run in The Fresh Boom<\/I> where she led to mid stretch at seven furlongs.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She is shipping in from <\/SPAN>Germany<\/SPAN><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> and comes in off a nice allowance win. \u00a0\u00a0<\/SPAN>She has a top jock, top breeding and the best speed figures in the race.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She is clearly the one to beat.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>
