Only four 3yo fillies have turned up for this week’s feature, The Jeremy’s Spirt Special. It will be run at one mile on the dirt for a purse of $60,000. Jeremy’s Spirt was an Unbridled mare who placed in a G3. She has thrown two fillies who are both allowance winners. <\/br><\/br>On the rail at 8\/1 is the younger of those two fillies, Storm Spirt<\/b>. Her nickname around the barn is ‘Miss Disappointment’. I can only afford one Storm Cat a year, and this is what I get. Her one allowance victory was in one that was resticted to a cpu value of 100 or less. D. Bobango must have felt sorry for her when he chose to ride her, because he ain’t gonna win on her. She’s only here because, heck, it’s pretty neat to run in a race named for your momma.<\/br><\/br>In post two at 3\/1 is Sea Of Noverre(Ire)<\/b>. She is by Noverre(Ire) and is based on a multiple-graded winner by Seattle Slew. Some of you may have seen her mentioned on the message board as another disappointment who can’t seem to win a race. She’s run second in four of five starts, despite regularly being ridden by Ireland’s top jock. Maybe the change of scenery will help her out. She gets another good jock here in Miika Kiprusoff. <\/br><\/br>In post three is the favourite at 3\/5, Kirby’s Thunder<\/b> owned by karmafarm<\/i>. She is by Mineshaft and is out of the stakeswinning Thunder Gulch mare Thunder Dancing. She has won three stakes already, all at less than a mile. She has tried the mile twice and the best she could manage was a third, although she did run a career-best 89 speed figure in that effort, which was right here in Finland under Kiprusoff. Since he snubbed her, A. Su is in the saddle today.<\/br><\/br>In post four at 2\/1 is the lightly raced Loud Victory<\/b>, owned by anymore<\/i>. She is by Victory Gallop and is out of the Thunder Gulch mare Sexy Glow, who has produced two other winners, one of whom was stakes placed. In just four races, this little lady has become her highest-earning progeny. She won her last two races convincingly, wiring both a high-class field of maidens in Denmark, and an equally strong allowance field in Ireland which included a stakes-placed filly. She will give the favourite a run for her money, even with R. Tribett in the irons.<\/br><\/br>There’s our field. It should be a real battle between the two Thunder Gulch granddaughters. Sea Of Noverre(Ire) will break her string of second place finishes…but a third will makes her stakes placed. Storm Spirt, well, she is here to pay homage to the mare who gave her life..nothing more.
