These early 2yo stakes are always fun.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Terribly unpredictable, but fun.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>There\u2019s not a ton you can say about these girls, given that they have at most 4 lifetime starts.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>On top of that, none of them have run the race distance of 7 furlongs before (though a few have gone 6.5).\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Still, there are some hints as to who might be destined for greatness and who might be destined for something a little less exciting.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

Embargo<\/B> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Super14<\/I>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>11\/1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>One of two Superstables-bred fillies in the race, she\u2019s looking pretty nice so far.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Has two wins and a second on the turf and should appreciate stretching out another 1.5 furlongs.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I\u2019m meh on the jockey, but like the filly at the price of 11\/1.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Will need to speed up just a smidge, but I think that\u2019s likely.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

Well Bred<\/B>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Royalybred<\/I>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>18\/1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Brahms filly broke her maiden at first asking, but flattened out in subsequent three starts, with two seconds and a fourth.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I suspect this field\u2019s going to be too much for her.<\/P>

Possessed<\/B>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Devil01<\/I>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>9\/1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Won twice in first two turf starts, but only managed third in first stakes.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Solid filly with good speed figures could get into the mix here with a bit of luck.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Should be happy going a bit further here and has a competent jock.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Wouldn\u2019t be a bit surprised if she hit the board.<\/P>

Pay No Attention<\/B>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Simsters1<\/I>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>7\/1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Pay attention to this girl, one of three stakes winners in the field.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She\u2019ll need to run a little bit faster here than she has in the past, but it\u2019s within her reach and I like that she\u2019s already proved herself in stakes company.<\/P>

Sudden Winner T\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/B>Highc<\/I>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>17\/1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Another black-type winner, though that was against a field of four.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>That stakes win was against a small enough field that it\u2019s hard to know what to make of it.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She\u2019ll be against tougher and faster here and will need her A game to compete.<\/P>

Cannot Comply <\/B>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Super13<\/I>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>8\/1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Really perked up between her second and third starts and has won 2 of 3.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>If she can run like she did last time out, she\u2019ll be a serious player here.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Improvement is likely for her with a little more distance, so watch out.<\/P>

Stormy Mesa<\/B>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Pgcretired<\/I>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>8\/1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>To soon to tell with this one.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She won comfortably at first asking in a full field, which is great, but not a ton of data to go on for this race. \u00a0<\/SPAN>Who knows, but she certainly ran her first race like she could be a very nice one.<\/P>

In Time<\/B>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Million<\/I>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>11\/1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Absolutely nuts to see a stakes-winning filly who\u2019s 2-for-2 on the turf going off at 11\/1.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>There\u2019s no reason for it whatsoever.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>There were only 5 horses in that stakes, but she won it with a time that should be competitive here.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Taking on a big, tough crowd here, but she certainly looks like she\u2019s up to it.<\/P>

Sals Back<\/B>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Mobboss<\/I>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>28\/1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This filly\u2019s in the \u201cjust happy to be here\u201d category.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She\u2019s a maiden who hasn\u2019t impressed much in her two prior starts, but it\u2019s certainly far too early to make any final pronouncements on her.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Deserves to be a longshot, but strange things happen in these maiden races.<\/P>

Soul Glow<\/B>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Given2<\/I>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>10\/1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Nice filly who improved markedly between her first and second starts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Has just a MSW<\/st1:stockticker> win to her name and will need to step up her game quite a bit here, but she looks like she should be a good horse to have in the long run.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/P>

Storm O Hollandia<\/B>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Oostende4<\/I>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>7\/1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This will be the first grass start for this successful Stormy Atlantic filly.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>On the dirt she has won two and come close in a couple of stakes races.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She looks like she should probably prefer the dirt, but you never know.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>If she takes to the turf, she could be a contender.<\/P>

Lost Witness<\/B>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Salamander<\/I>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>9\/1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Odds seem a little short on this one.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She has just broken her maiden in her second attempt in a small field of four.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She\u2019s taking on much tougher here.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>It\u2019s possible, of course, but she hasn\u2019t done anything to really grab my attention yet.<\/P>

Blue Smoke<\/B>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Eomer<\/I>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>6\/1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Love this filly.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Has the highest turf speed fig of anyone in the field and was a competitive second in a graded race.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She has also won an overnight stakes.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>She has run very consistently in her three turf starts and should benefit from a bit more distance.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>On top of that, her jock has a 24% strike rate.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

It\u2019s anyone\u2019s race, though I think Blue Smoke <\/B>is clearly the girl to beat.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>There are plenty of others knocking at the door, though.<\/P>
