Field on 10 talented fillies facing off in the Grade III Desert Flower Stakes.
1. 91016 PLOY<\/b> tcrowell(owner) 8\/1. A 3yo filly by Exploit. She has been consistently running at 6f doing nicely always collecting that pay check. Has raced against older three times this year, two of those she ran her worst races in this year though, also has never been in graded company. Is running mid 90’s sp’s but will have to break a 100 to most likely win here which she never has done. Maybe could get 5th.
2. 88708 HIT IN MID AMERICA<\/b> kaif011 10\/1. A 3yo filly by Lemon Drop Kid. Started out sprinting then ran 13 straight routing and just ran in a sprint once this year which was 2 back at 7f. Came in 3rd that day coming from behind. These mid upper 80 sp’s won’t cut it here, will need to improve a lot to do something.
3. 34974 A POLISH FOREST<\/b> nitrocavy 9\/2. A 3yo by Forestry. Only ran at this distance once on turf which was her last race where she won nicely with a 95SP. Is on a 4 race win streak coming in here including 2 stakes. She’s a frontrunner, but aren’t too many in here so maybe she can wire this field. Will probably come in the top 3.
4. 43395 UNDER MOONSHINE<\/b> bilmill 17\/1. Another filly by Forestry. Is the longest shot in here. Ran at this distance once on turf on a wet track coming in 2nd. She’s barely gotten above a 90 Sp in 15 career starts, only hit 90+ twice. Will com in the bottom part of the field.
5. 73896 NIGHTHAWK LUST<\/b> 4nighthawk 3\/1. A 3yo by Cryptoclearance. Is the favorite in here. Has run on turf only three times in 25 career starts though. She did win a stakes with a 102 sp and coming 2nd in another stakes while grabbing 5th in a G1 race. Those 3 races alone shows me that she will come in the top 3 here, maybe 2nd or 3rd.
6. 40276 GOJOBURG<\/b> phatpharm 11\/1. A 3yo by Johannesburg. She has raced at this distance on turf twice with a win and second in allowances. She been running up and down, good and bad in her races. Won a race 2 back and then faltered last time out. Also looks as though she can’t get past the 92, 93 SP barrier. Chances of her coming n the top 3 is not looking good.
7. 5001 WISHIN’ WELLS<\/b> lastfarm 6\/1. A 3yo by Kingmambo. AT her only try at this distance she won easily by 3+ lengths in her 2nd career start, which was a stakes. Was in route races most of the year until her last two where she dropped to 7.5f coming in 1st and 2nd. Wil probably stay near the pace and then make her move in the stretch. I can see her finishing in the top 3 or 4 here.
8. 93535 HERBALISM<\/b> ninerae 15\/1. A 3yo by Gone West. Only has 8 career starts. She was an average horse until she started to turf sprint. She has won both starts turf sprinting at 6 and 7f a stakes and allowance. She closed from behind to win both and drew away at the end. I believe she can upset some horses in here and finish in the top 3 if she keeps improving as she does. Longshot pick.
9. 12549 SLY GO LIGHTLY(IRE)<\/b> oberon 7\/2. A 3yo by Sligo Bay. In 7 career starts at sprinting she has won 6 with over $400k made. She’s 2 for 3 at this distance, just came in 3rd last time out at 6f after dropping from 11f. Her Sp’s this year are higher then everyone else, she has the graded experience, has already won G2 and G3 races. She’s my pick to win this and take it all.
10. 90553 ABIGAIL<\/b> kobras4 13\/1. A 3yo by Strike the Gold. In 20 starts has raced in turf only 4 times. Came in 2nd in her only try at this distance on turf, though it was a 4 horse field. Completely bombed her last two races which were on turf, both graded races, although they were route, looks like she prefers sprinting.
