because you&#8217;re gonna hear more from this Speightstown filly next season.\u00a0 <\/FONT><\/DIV><DIV><FONT face=Verdana size=2><\/FONT>\u00a0<\/DIV><DIV><FONT face=Verdana size=2>Previously a minor stakes winner in sprints, Zytown elevated her game in last week&#8217;s <EM>Grade 2 $250,000 Golden Red Stakes<\/EM>.\u00a0\u00a0 Zyro&#8217;s homebred made a big leap forward, capturing both the graded level *and* the two-turns benchmark all in one swoop.<\/FONT><\/DIV><DIV><FONT face=Verdana size=2><\/FONT>\u00a0<\/DIV><DIV><FONT face=Verdana size=2>The <EM>Golden Red(G2)<\/EM> attracted some pretty good freshmen starlets.\u00a0\u00a0The royally bred racetime favorite <STRONG>Jades Treasure<\/STRONG> garnered\u00a0the oddmakers&#8217; nod after placing\u00a0over a mile previously\u00a0at the graded level.\u00a0 Toss in triska&#8217;s Grade 1 winner <STRONG>Ampuria<\/STRONG> amongst others and you had a fair matchup.\u00a0\u00a0<\/FONT><\/DIV><DIV><FONT face=Verdana size=2><\/FONT>\u00a0<\/DIV><DIV><FONT face=Verdana size=2>And Ampuria jutted out to an early lead.\u00a0 Unplaced in the <EM>Breeders\u00a0Bowl Juvenile Fillies<\/EM>, Ampuria brazenly tossed back challenges from\u00a0a couple pace pressers.\u00a0\u00a0 The Unbridled&#8217;s Song daughter\u00a0could not hold off the third though when thebandit&#8217;s Jades Treasure wore down the speedster in a dead-on dogfight down the lane.\u00a0\u00a0<\/FONT><\/DIV><DIV><FONT face=Verdana size=2><\/FONT>\u00a0<\/DIV><DIV><FONT face=Verdana size=2>Meanwhile, Zytown\u00a0overcame traffic problems, breaking near the back of the pack.\u00a0 Jockey Phillipo Slaven described the rest of the journey in his post-race interview:<\/FONT><\/DIV><BLOCKQUOTE dir=ltr style=\"MARGIN-RIGHT: 0px\"><DIV><FONT face=Verdana size=2>&#8220;I had to make for the far outside when we swung four wide at the top of the stretch.\u00a0\u00a0Zytown still had her ears pricked and it was smooth sailing when we switched leads.\u00a0\u00a0 She straightened out and gobbled up major ground.\u00a0\u00a0Those speedsters were staggering to the wire.\u00a0 A good few jumps in the final hundred yards was all we needed.&#8221;<\/FONT><\/DIV><\/BLOCKQUOTE><DIV dir=ltr><FONT face=Verdana size=2>Zytown crossed the wire a length on top.\u00a0 Jades Treasure, in turn, had a length on Ampuria for the place spot.\u00a0 <\/FONT><\/DIV><DIV dir=ltr><FONT face=Verdana size=2><\/FONT>\u00a0<\/DIV><DIV dir=ltr><FONT face=Verdana size=2>The final time for the 8.5 furlongs appeared<EM> on-paper<\/EM>\u00a0to be a rather pedestrian 1:43 4\/5.\u00a0 However, considering that the <EM>BB Juvy Fillies<\/EM> was only one-fifth of a second faster, Zytown &#038;
