We had a very exciting race in the Bargain Bowl Vimes Turf Distaff. Ankapit<\/b> secured the early lead, with Not A Moo Cow<\/b> stalking her, and it looked like she might run away with the race. But halfway through, three others made their moves, with Moltov Cocktail<\/b> taking over at the 6f mark. Over Highland<\/b> battled her way past her in the stretch to take the lead, winning by a margin of 2 lengths. Peking Wind<\/b> passed the tiring Ankapit to take third. Not A Moo Cow finished fifth. The winning speed figure was a 92.<\/br><\/br>With the victory, Over Highland pushed her career earnings up to $235K, but returned to the barn on lay off. Whether she will run again is an uncertainty. Moltov Cocktail proved that she can handle 9.5f, as she ran a very nice race and finished with a 90. Peking Wind also seemed to like the distance well enough, running an 88. If these two 3yos mature just a bit more, low 90s at this distance will make them competitive in listed turf stakes next season. As for Not A Moo Cow, it seems likely that she was just unable to handle the extra sixteenth.
