Hong Kong-<\/B>It\u2019s been a long time since we have covered a race at our home track.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>It has been a busy year covering the best horses in the game, but here we are, a week after the exciting BB races, back home to do some chillin\u2019 and recharge the batteries.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/SPAN><\/B>The big Hong Kong<\/st1:place> race this week is the $60,000 Gonta\u2019s Slew Bonanza Stake.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Five three year olds will race seven and one half furlong\u2019s over a fast track to see if they can obtain their first stake score.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>There isn\u2019t really a favorite or a longshot in this race as the odds of the entire field are between 2-1 and 9-2.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Official Track Handicapper, Pete \u2018The Hatchet\u2019 Wang will analyze each horse and give you the skinny about them so you, the bettor, can better throw away your worthless sim money.<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

PP1, Bizor\u2019s <\/I>Smart Quest<\/B> (2-1, Stokes).\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\u201cIt\u2019s nice to spend a weekend at home.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>All that nonstop partying in New York<\/st1:State><\/st1:place> was rough.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I was beginning to wear out.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I must be getting old.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Well to the race at hand.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Another year has come and gone.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Not too many of these three year old only races left.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>It\u2019s already time to start thinking about next year\u2019s breeding.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This son of Smart Strike has won three of thirteen and earned over $79,000 in his career.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He is a morning line co favorite at 2-1.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Closer stalker is four for five in the money when sprinting.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The only time he was off the board was when he tried this distance in the slop and was fifth.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>In that race he earned a 94 speed rating.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>His best speed rating is a 100 that he earned in a nine furlong allowance race two starts ago.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This is a tough colt to figure out.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Eight starts ago he had a big race and showed a huge upside and then he flattened out in his next several starts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>His last two races have seen him increase his speed ratings.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Is he looking at a huge breakout race in this race or is his optimum race not yet defined?\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I\u2019m thinking the latter.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Best speed ratings come in routes rather than sprints.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Perhaps with maturity he might want to go twelve furlongs with all that stamina on his dam sire.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He might want to race on the grass again.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Only time and races will tell.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>A nice puzzle to have in your barn.\u201d<\/P>

PP2, Kindone\u2019s <\/I>Dr. Bloom<\/B> (7-2, Brett).\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\u201cSon of Menifee is two for twenty-four in his career.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Closer has the field\u2019s best seven and one half furlong speed rating.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>That rating is a 102 that he earned when finishing third two starts ago in an allowance.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He has as good of chance as any in this field to earn his first stake score.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Form cycle appears to be peaking.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Perhaps this is his \u2018right\u2019 distance.\u201d<\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/P>

PP3, Tomfly\u2019s <\/I>Royfly\u2019s Year<\/B> (2-1, Ly).\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\u201cThe other co favorite.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Has the most wins of any starter, five from sixteen starts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Career earnings for this son of Event Of The Year are over $118,000.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Best speed rating in his last eight starts is a 101 that he earned while finishing second in a 6.5 furlong allowance.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>In his last race he was ninth.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>It appears in that race that he was involved in a five horse speed duel and he was cooked trying to gain the early lead.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>In this race, he only has one potential early speed opponent so opening half might not be as taxing for him and he might be the fastest of the early speed.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>His best races have come when he was first or second early and that should happen here.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Next big question is whether or not he can handle the distance.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>In his only try at seven furlongs he was fifth with a 98 speed rating.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>In that race he had a less then optimum early placement.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Placement should be better here.\u201d<\/P>

PP4, Kirby55\u2019s <\/I>Kirby\u2019s Big Event<\/B> (9-2, Brewer).\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\u201cThe longshot at 9-2.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Another Event Of The Year colt.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This one\u2019s dame is Gone West.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Has sixteen prior starts, he has won four and earned over $130,000.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Closer was running pretty well until he was injured three starts ago in week 2545.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Has been brought back slowly by his connections and could be sitting on a big race.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Prior to the injury he had a 99 speed rating that he earned in an allowance win.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He is also stake placed, finishing third in a Dubai<\/st1:City><\/st1:place> stake. \u00a0<\/SPAN>With top jockey aboard he is a huge threat.\u201d<\/P>

PP5, Slownags\u2019 <\/I>Clean Out <\/B>(7-2, Aldridge).\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\u201cJockey is having a fantastic year.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This used to be a jockey that you would try to avoid, but not now.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Son of Septieme Ciel is another who is on the come back trail.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Clean Out won his first two career starts then raced in a stake, was unplaced and given time off.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Has made two starts since the lay-off and has improved in each effort.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>In his last race he put up a 102 speed rating while finishing third in an allowance.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>That race saw a change in tactics as he rated for the first time.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>If Aldridge elects to send to the front early, he might be the fastest of the early speed.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Has the biggest upside of any horse in the field as this is just his sixth career start.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The colt I\u2019m backing\u201d<\/P>
