Storm’s Buda Sold Favorite<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/B><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/B><\/P>

Argentina<\/SPAN><\/B><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> – It was a beautiful spring day here in <\/SPAN>Argentina<\/SPAN><\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> as I made my way to the track to catch the morning workouts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Five 2YO colts had been entered in The Their Scale Memorial and I hoped to see them on the track.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The race would cover 7 1\/2 furlongs over the grass and would carry a purse of $75,000.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

First out on the track was Storm’s Buda<\/B> (6\/5), a compact, well put together individual who gleamed with good health. \u00a0<\/SPAN>The son of Dubai Destination is owned and trained by Kiwi <\/I><\/B>and the bright bay colt was looking sharp as he motored around the track, high-blowing, which in the crisp air made him look like a dragon with the steam coming out of his nose.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/SPAN>Buda is 3\/5 in the money with two wins.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He won at first asking and followed that up with a 4th<\/SUP> in a Grade 3.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He was then switched to the turf last time out and came from far back to win The Bee Bell at 7 1\/2.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Undefeated over the grass, he posted a nice speed figure of 81 and must have impressed the people who matter because they made him the morning line favorite.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Beefy<\/SPAN><\/I><\/B> sent his dark brown colt out for a morning jog.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Trimmed in white, Kingofjohannesburg<\/B> (3\/1) is the most experienced colt of the group with eight starts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>A son of <\/SPAN>Johannesburg<\/SPAN><\/st1:place><\/st1:City>, he has won two of those including his last, a wire to wire score in a <\/SPAN>North Florida<\/SPAN><\/st1:place> allowance.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He will more than likely try that same tactic again.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Next out on the track was a rangy, bright bay colt by Storm Boot. \u00a0<\/SPAN>Custom Design<\/B> (3\/1) jogged backwards a ways, hitting the ground well, tossing his rather petite head and asking for more rein before being turned and breaking off into a gallop.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Trained by Foxon4<\/I><\/B>, the colt has never been out of the money in four starts but is only a winner of one. He broke his maiden last time out in his fourth start with a come from behind score.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Foxon4<\/I><\/B> was unable to make the draw and was spun by his top rider, ending up with a low percentage jock that might make the difference in the final placing.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

Dark Soul<\/SPAN><\/B> (4\/1) is trained by Bigsteve54<\/I><\/B> and is a grand looking individual by Perfect Soul.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He is making his first start and was a bit gawky as he galloped around the track.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The plain bay colt is rumored to have just gotten his gate card last Monday and looked like he had a lot of maturing to do.<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

\u00a0<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P>

The final horse in the race came by with the pony and was bucking and kicking as he went by me.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Shy Boy<\/B> (7\/1) is a by Rubiton and is a former $5,000 claimer.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He was claimed out of that race and finished third of four in a track restricted allowance for his new owner Toozey2<\/I><\/B>.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>While the horse can’t read condition books, can his owner – or is he really smart – finding a nice soft field and guaranteeing himself some stakes points?<\/o:p><\/SPAN><\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
