Spotlight Race of the Week-Queensland Claimer.\u00a0 <\/FONT>Sometimes it\u2019s good to go back to the roots or the beginning of something.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The Spotlight feature has been producing a Tip Sheet for a few months now, so this week I am going back to the roots of the Spotlight.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\u00a0<\/SPAN>That would be to pick a random race that is not a stakes race and review each of the entrants in the field.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/FONT><\/P>

This race has a tag of $3,000 with a very generous purse of $39,300.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Actually, the purse is HUGE!\u00a0 <\/SPAN>With that money, you could claim each and every one of the 11 runners in the race.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>It is open to horses 3 and up and has drawn only males.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>They will square off on the dirt track at a distance of 9 furlongs.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Post Time for the race is an early 11:30 in the morning.<\/o:p><\/FONT><\/P>

2.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Blind Savannah\u00a0 <\/SPAN>7-2<\/B>\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Ran a very encouraging speed of 92 in last when finishing second going a mile which was after a 2-month layoff.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Stretches out by another furlong but appears to be ready.\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/o:p><\/FONT><\/P>

6.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Jacobite Wells\u00a0 <\/SPAN>23-1\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/B>Sidelined for just under a year, this 9-year old returned to turf in August and has run on that surface twice with unrewarding results.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Makes first dirt start of season and career wise has 1 win in 14 starts on dirt.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Outcome here is not promising.<\/o:p><\/FONT><\/P>

7.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>White Cocktail\u00a0 <\/SPAN>15-1\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/B>Nicely bred Tapit colt has underperformed throughout his career.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Comes back to dirt after three disappointments on the grass.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>However, this one is capable of throwing in an unexpected good race, which may delight longshot players.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>But note that he has one career win in 23 races, making it doubtful that a huge payoff will be reaped.<\/o:p><\/FONT><\/P>

8.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Two Appealing\u00a0 <\/SPAN>5-1<\/B>\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>In his last race, this one hit a speed of 95 while running 8.5f, establishing his career best to date.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Has only 5 races this year with average speed of 88.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This front runner has nice numbers and should be feared in this race.<\/o:p><\/FONT><\/P>

9.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Prince Hamlet\u00a0 <\/SPAN>22-1<\/B>\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This Shakespeare horse was bred for the grass and has not lived up to expectations.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Drops from $60k claimers and makes rare dirt appearance.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Ran with speed of 84 back in late 2010 in dirt mile where he picked up his sole win on this surface.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Has shown some late run ability on dirt in past, and could be a big surprise here.<\/o:p><\/FONT><\/P>

10.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Gift From Home\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>5-1<\/B>\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This 9-year old is making his first start of 2012.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>He is the son of Medaglia D\u2019Oro and has some Easy Goer in the bloodlines.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN>This has produced a\u00a0 <\/SPAN>13-time winner but I think he will need a few races to get back into form.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>I would not be surprised to see this one get claimed.<\/o:p><\/FONT><\/P>

11.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Cajun Spice\u00a0 <\/SPAN>15-1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/SPAN><\/B>In 2011, this colt was on the board 7 times in 9 races.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>The 2012 racing season has not been so kind as he\u2019s hit the board twice in 8 starts.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>\u00a0\u00a0<\/SPAN>Despite the poor results this year, when this one races in good form, he is dangerous.\u00a0 <\/SPAN>Outside shot in this race.<\/o:p><\/FONT><\/P>
