Let’s take a look at the field:

1 173840
LUCKY DESTINY(KY) coolk
R Radzinski
6/1

6 year old War Chant mare took the Grade 3 Ferry Dust in May recording a 109 sp. She followed that up with a last place finish in a 7 panel allowance race that was likely nothing more than a prep for this. Her effort in that might have taken to big of a step back to throw up a big fig for this one though. Her trainer hits at nearly 20% so this one must not be overlooked.

2 19030
LA FEMMINA(KY) equistable
S Hommell
7/1

5 year old Medaglia D’ Oro mare has won or placed in 16 of 28 career starts. She ran a real nice race 3 runs back finishing third in a similar spot. She figures to be tracking the leaders throughout and making an impact late. Her lifetime best sp is 108 and the feeling is she will need something better than that to win. Trainer Equibase hits pay dirt just over 18% of the time.

3 175651
EXPIATION(KY) mtkinde
T Kallor
8/1

6 year old Cryptoclearance mare has never won a stakes race thus far. She has been close a few times over career and taking on Grade 2 foes does not give you the impression today will be the day. She does have a career best 111 sp on her resume and just ran fourth in a Grade 2 last out. Not out of the question.

4 20943
CRIBLIA(KY) maruxa
B Pitts
7/1

4 year old Tapit mare has won 13 of 29. She has been one busy filly as she hasn’t had any real break since her debut in May of 2010. She won the Grade 2 Vagabond 3 runs back at six and half furlongs. Her career best sp is 108. If she was a bit fresher filly I think she could do some major damage but as it stands now I see a minor award in her future for this one.

5 30899
KID CHOCOLATE(KY) brasco40
P Nabinger
7/1

4 year old Candy Ride mare has been running at all kinds of distances and surfaces of late. She doesn’t really specialize in one. That could play against her in this spot. She does have a career best 107 sp but that was at eight and half. She won’t likely be able to keep up early and will do her best running very late. She does have 2 wins and 2 places in 4 tries at the distance.

6 188183
KAJAGOOGOO(KY) mtkgrs3
K Wasko
8/1

5 year old Belong To Me mare has won 4 straight and all of them at today’s distance. Among those 4 wins was her career best 106sp. She is definitely on the upswing and just recorded a stakes tally. She will need to continue to get better to win this and judging by her form, that is a possibility.

7 194111
FIRST PITCH STRIKE(KY) sabathia
S Noles
12/1

5 year old Smart Strike mare has a career best 105 sp. She seems to do her best running at slightly shorter distance and likes to come from well off the pace. She’s only run six furlongs once and came from way way back to get up for second in that one. A pace meltdown will need to occur for her to factor.

8 2806
DESPICABLE(KY) cylla1111
C Orza
4/1

4 year old Elusive Quality mare she was going great guns after winning a Grade 2 with a 115sp. However, she tried the boys after that and got trounced and took a big step backwards. If she regains her form, she is the one to beat. But she will have to turn the tables on Up The Pop Charts below who got the better of her last out.

9 51865
UP THE POP CHARTS(KY) raynham
Z Ayya
7/1

4 year old Mineshaft mare has progressed rapidly since taking on the stakes ranks 4 runs back. After running third and then winning a non graded stakes she stepped up to a Grade 2 and ran second and then followed that up with a runner up effort in a Grade 2 at the distance besting Despicable above. She has a little versatility which could bode well here. With a career best of 110 sp she is definitely one to beat.

10 67984
SPACE CAPSULE(NY) lasthope1
F Solomon
7/1

4 year old Cosmonaut mare has won a whopping 16 of 27 starts. Trainer hits at an astounding 28% clip to boot. She has won seven of her last 8 albeit against weaker foes. It’s worth noting she was well beaten by Despicable several months ago in the Kept Safely. She seems vastly improved since then and will be on or near the lead throughout. Major contender.

Based on career stats, Despicable is the one beat recording a 115sp on two separate occasions. However, she is not in peak form at the moment so anything is possible. Space Capsule is winning races right and left and Up The Pop Charts seems to be going the best of anyone at the moment. A case could be made for a few others as well. Should be a great race. Good luck to all trainers and hopefully your horses all come back in one piece.

[2

post-10420","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-previews
["GET
