In the prevailing fine weather, the going was firm and there were twelve confirmed runners competing for the $500,000 purse,
It was a very open market, with New York Escape(AUS) just the favourite at 5/1. Arc A Comin’(GER) and Navigating(JPN) were next at 6/1 and Madly Deeply(JPN) was sent off at 7/1. As the eventual winner started her run, New York Escape(AUS) was caught somewhat flat-footed four furlongs out, but chased Quality Buzz(KY) down the home straight, running on well, but could not catch the winner.
With the outside draw, Iron Galeanthropy(KY) made a forward move after they had gone five furlongs and was able to make a challenge more than once in the home straight, but was never quite good enough and finished four lengths behind the winner in third.
The winner is owned and trained by jetair and her jockey on this occasion was S.
