The race is set to go off with a course set to firm for post&nbsp;time. Offering a total prize purse of $1,500,000&nbsp;the race has attracted a total of ten contenders going to the gate at post time.&nbsp;Let\u2019s&nbsp;take a look&nbsp;through the horses for this year\u2019s running.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li><strong>Simalia&nbsp;(IRE)<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp;katmole&nbsp;\u2013 E. Sharp \u2013 10\/1&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Drawing the inside rail, the six-year-old chestnut gelding is sired by Australia and will be looking for his first group stakes win this weekend with his twenty-ninth career start. The most recent start for the gelding came in Australia during a listed stakes race at ten furlongs.&nbsp;The gelding was held off the pace in eighth out of the gate and didn\u2019t make a bid for the front until the field entered in the stretch where he displayed an impressive turn of foot to cross the wire in second, only a&nbsp;half-length&nbsp;off the winner, and setting a speed figure of one hundred ten.&nbsp;His most recent win came here in South Africa in a listed stakes at eleven and a half furlongs in which he was off a&nbsp;beat&nbsp;slow and trailed the field from twelfth before stepping up the pace midway through the race and eventually winning by two lengths. His last attempt against group company was in&nbsp;The&nbsp;5-Series (G1) in&nbsp;Australia&nbsp;over a mile and a half where he would finish thirteenth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2, <strong>Dat Bassett Strut (FR)<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; bigbucks6 \u2013M. Vinson \u20135\/1&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the second slot we have another runner looking for his first group&nbsp;win. The five-year-old gelding is by the late top sire Wootton Bassett (GB). Making his twenty-first career start on Saturday, the gelding\u2019s most recent start was here in South Africa during the Manha&nbsp;Manha&nbsp;Challenge (G1) at a mile and a quarter. Out of the gate and settling into eighth, he&nbsp;wouldn\u2019t&nbsp;make a bid for the front until entering the stretch where he would run out of ground with a fifth-place finish while setting a speed figure of one hundred thirteen. His most recent win was against listed stakes company in Australia in August of last year over the same distance. Tucked into fifth early, he would start to increase his pace midway through the race before taking over the lead in the stretch and winning by two lengths.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. <strong>Schwartz D\u2019Haus (IRE)<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp;amoled&nbsp;\u2013 J. Wilson \u2013 8\/1&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The five-year-old will be seeking out his first Group I win of his career with this race after coming close to achieving it in his most recent start. The son of&nbsp;fairly new&nbsp;sire Blackbeard most recently started overseas in Brazil during The Grand Brazilian (G1) at a mile and a half. Out of the gate and tucked back into seventh early in the race, he would start to make his move midway through the race and would work himself up into third in the stretch before the field hit the wire. The brown horse would set a speed figure of one hundred eleven for the race. The most recent win for the horse came in August of last year during The Deauville (G2) in France at a mile and five-eighths, held that year over a track rated as good. Off the pace in fourth, he would advance halfway through the race before taking the lead in the stretch to win by an impressive eight and three-quarter lengths over the giving ground.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. <strong>Path Of Time (GB)<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp;asrfrankel&nbsp;\u2013 N.&nbsp;Lebarache&nbsp;\u2013 7\/1&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With twenty-one career starts and four wins under his belt, the five-year-old son of Frankel (GB) has earned over&nbsp;five-million&nbsp;in career earnings. &nbsp;The most recent start for the bay horse came this past May in Ireland during the Tattersalls Gold (G1) at a mile and five-sixteenths. Setting off the pace in fourth out of the gate, the horse would fall back to fifth midway through the race and would set a speed figure of one hundred nine for the race. His most recent win was in February of last year during the New Zealand Derby (G1) at a mile and a half. Held off the pace in fifth out of the gate, the horse would start to pick up the pace midway through the race and went on to take over the lead in the stretch to win by two lengths.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. <strong>Frankhill&nbsp;(ENG)<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp;falvelon&nbsp;\u2013 J. Sands \u2013 7\/2&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sired by the great Frankel (GB) as his name suggests, the five-year-old&nbsp;bay gelding&nbsp;will be going into this race&nbsp;off of&nbsp;a win and will be making his twenty-fourth career start. The most recent race for the bay gelding came&nbsp;in the Tattersalls Gold (G1) over a mile and five-sixteenths in Ireland last May. Exiting the gate and settling into sixth towards the middle of the field, the gelding would be asked to challenge other&nbsp;horses&nbsp;midway through the race. He would reach the lead in the stretch and go on to win the race by the three lengths while setting a speed figure of one hundred seventeen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. <strong>King\u2019s Journey (IRE)<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; teecefra2&nbsp;\u2013 J. Cox \u20137\/1&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With seven wins out of twenty-one career starts, the five-year-old&nbsp;bay gelding&nbsp;is looking to get another win this weekend. The most recent start for the son of Camelot (GB) came&nbsp;in&nbsp;England during&nbsp;The Coronation Pilsner (G1) in late May over a mile and a half. Stalking the pace from third, the gelding briefly&nbsp;moved up&nbsp;into second before being shuffled back into third midway through the race where he would cross the wire while setting a speed figure of one hundred eleven. His most recent win came in April in Australia during&nbsp;The&nbsp;5-Series (G1) over&nbsp;the same distance. Just off the pace in second out of the gate, he would take over the lead midway through the race and go on to win the contest by three-quarters of a length.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. <strong>Boneborough&nbsp;(IRE)<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; ksparrow8 \u2013 V. Kendall \u2013 11\/1&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first of only two four-year-olds in the field, the gelding is by Exceed&nbsp;And&nbsp;Excell and is seeking out his first group win of his career with what will be his twentieth career start. The most recent start for the bay gelding came&nbsp;last month in England during&nbsp;The Prince Of Whales (G1) at a mile and a quarter. Exiting the gate and settling into eighth, he would fade in the stretch to cross the wire in tenth, setting a speed figure of one hundred six. His most recent win came against allowance&nbsp;company over the same distance in Australia. Stalking the pace from second, he would take over the lead in the stretch and go on to win by three lengths.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8. <strong>Blavakin&nbsp;(ENG)<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; peeps9&nbsp;\u2013 F. Gossett \u2013 9\/1&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the older contenders in our field at six-years-old, the brown horse is sired by top turf sire&nbsp;Dubawi&nbsp;(IRE) and has made thirty-two career starts. The most recent race for the horse&nbsp;who is out of Group I winner and million-dollar earner&nbsp;<strong><em>Famous Indy<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;came&nbsp;in&nbsp;The Second Henry in England over two miles this past May. Tucked into seventh out of the gate, he made a late run in the stretch but would come up in fifth while setting a speed figure of ninety-six. His most recent win came in August of last year in Germany during The G. P. Von Baden (G1) over the same distance. Well off the pace early and trailing the field from eleventh, he would make an earlier move midway through the race before going on to win by half a length.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9. <strong>Fronte Di Guerra<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 adrian26 &#8211; K. Ledwith \u2013 4\/1&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first of two American-bred horses in the field, the son of War Front will be going into the ninth gate on Saturday. With twenty-one career&nbsp;starts&nbsp;the five-year-old bay horse&nbsp;is a local champion and has career earnings approaching a million dollars. The most recent start for the horse was here in South Africa during the Manha&nbsp;Manha&nbsp;Challenge (G1) at a mile and a quarter in late April.&nbsp;Settling out of the gate in ninth, he started to pick up the pace midway through the race and taking over the&nbsp;lead&nbsp;the stretch. He would go on to win by two lengths while setting a speed figure of one hundred twelve.&nbsp;The horse started his career and only late last year transitioned over the turf where he is undefeated in his four turf&nbsp;starts&nbsp;which also includes the Night&nbsp;At&nbsp;The&nbsp;Exbury&nbsp;(G2) also at a mile and a quarter.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10. <strong>Rocko Rock<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 trooper \u2013 D. Brock \u2013 13\/1&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Going into the far&nbsp;outside&nbsp;post is our longshot for Saturday\u2019s race. The final four-year-old in the&nbsp;race, he&nbsp;has less experience than the rest of the field at fourteen career starts. Sired by the great Into&nbsp;Mischief&nbsp;the&nbsp;bay colt&nbsp;is group placed and seeking out his first win against group company&nbsp;with just his second start&nbsp;against&nbsp;group&nbsp;competition coming this Saturday.&nbsp;The most recent start for the colt came last month in Germany during The M-Class (G2) over a mile and three-eighths in what was the colt\u2019s group stakes debut.&nbsp;The track came up as yielding that&nbsp;day&nbsp;and the colt was sent out of the gate to settle into fifth towards the middle of the field.
